ok, it’s 5 am. i just got home from a 2 1/2 hour drive and i’ve been up since 9 am yesterday… let’s not forget all the substances that are flowing through my veins at the moment either… but i wanted to make sure all of you guys got the full story as soon as possible so here i am.
bottom line: this was all for hype. the post, the shit-talking, even me storming out of the arcade was all artificial in order to create some buzz and hype around the gaming community. one thing that was real were the matches.
at first, coopa and i were going to stage some matches to make it crazy and fun to watch, but when we realized people were actually side-betting, we decided to play for real… in which case i got TOTALLY DESTROYED. :(:(
anyways, it all started when coopa and i were discussing random things online, that the norcal scene is pretty close-knit, fun, and open. there aren’t that many conflicts or rivalries, and even though that makes for a great community, does not make for great entertainment.
imagine if WWE were ALL nice guys. they all play fair, and hug afterwards. wtf kind of fun is that, you know? we really believed that there needs to be a conflict and a need for battle in order for any sort of anticipation or hype to be involved for any event.
so we decided to go with this. i am sure many of you thought ‘wtf this is totally a joke. coopa is an idiot and lb would never do shit like that’… i did too… HAHAHA and that’s why we had to 1. edit the first post, 2. make things a little more real. i am really glad to have friends in the community who backed me through this and i love you all… and i’m really sorry i hella sucked shit during the matches but not like i was ever known to be a good player hehehe.
but yeah, i am hoping this was some sort of a success. davis got tons of entrees to the tournament and even though the matches themselves were very shitty from my part, at least many of you guys had enough interest to stick around until then.
what we want to learn from here is that maybe we should not only hold tournaments, but hold more PROMOTED matches. for example, as a ryu player, i want to see someone like john choi (even though he kinda hates sf4) play vs XXX player, and i would seriously put 50-100 dollars for the winner just so that we can have the games be arranged. i am sure many of you will also won’t mind putting a dollar or two to watch an event like that… as long as the interest is there.
maybe we can even just have a street fighter EVENTS and not just tournaments where we can hold 4-5 different hyped up matches, and have people show support by going there to watch like you would a boxing/mma main events.

filipino champ vs whoever was yelling for 40 minutes during the grand finals for the loudest person money match?
i don’t know. i know you guys may think this is stupid, and wtf is the point of doing all this shit but we really want things to get bigger and better… i hope this was for a step in the right direction and if you guys have any input or thoughts on how we can move forward, that would be amazing.
