"Lay Hands on'em!" Gen Video Thread

This.

But he does pull off max damage combos anyway.

If he has one flaw, and he knows he does, because he pointed it out already, it’s his over-usage of backdashing. And he uses them without thinking. It’s a pattern he got into. Whether he gets reset in the air from an air-to-air, or blocks a guard string, or just wakes up. He’s been toning it down lately. He’s fully aware. I’ve bonked his head enough about that. But Gen’s backdash is great either way.

*About my douchebaggery: I explained it, and I stand my ground on that. Didn’t ask for advice, and it wasn’t sound advice either. Those were silly comments of a 5 second period in a 14minute video, with silly remarks to go along with it. Posted for the sake of “just commenting”. The mistakes he made were obvious enough that he knows about them. Kinda like hitting your car. You don’t need someone to come out of the blue and tell you: “Hey, you hit your car!” when your have the airbag on your face. I believe you can make that assumption by yourself.

PS: I actually never insulted him. If you had read my post, you’d notice there was zero name-calling. I do insult very often. It just so happens such a thing didn’t happen this time around. But if it had, it would be just fine.

@Newtype Andy: You’re patient. I’m benevolent. If people read at least 50% of the amount of posts I write, at least 60% are useful walls of test, either helping newbies out, or just arguing technicalities. The other 40% are finger-pointing and laughing. I believe I keep my balance in check.*

Don’t know if this has been posted: Rokotsus Gen meets Tokidos Akuma, at 4.50:

To quote the japanese announcers: “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?”

Double post. But thanks for reminding me about Bayarea510s channel, 56K!

I laughed at the fact that the announcers:

 1. Were confused at the name of mantis U1 (not so significant)
 2. Didn’t know ceiling jump had angled kicks

Good match, but I felt sad when the announcers said that they don’t see a Gen playing.

Haha, yeah, I don’t speak japanese at all, but you can see them gesturing, like “isn’t it just straight down”?

Damn doubles!

The forum was laggy to me a minute ago.

Oh yea, it was also funny that the announcers were still looking at the frame data for Oga’s frame disadvantage, while the Ryu match was going on

EDIT - They were saying this when the VS RYU match was over:
“There was a lack of information on Gen”

Btw, if Rokotsu calculated that Super Close cross-up Oga in 6:38, then he’s gdlk.

I’m glad you like my style! /blush

I don’t think I’ve ever claimed to be superior, let alone have I ever tried to prove it. I’m sorry you feel that way, but it has to be your own inferiority complex at work. All I’ve done is call us out on how counter-productive we are, and already you’re insulted. Let’s face it, the reason I made that post is because a lot of the people here sound like they want to be spoon fed sweet vids of amazing Gen play, which really doesn’t matter, that’s fine to want that. I want that. But when videos are posted and people are saying other people aren’t very good and yadda yadda, offering little or absolutely no advice, that upsets me. It’s not constructive criticism, a lot of people who post vids just get shot down and dismissed as terribad. Just doesn’t seem right to me. Take this with a grain of salt as that’s what it seemed like several months ago, but I stopped lurking here for the last quarter.

@The_Theorical - Well as long as you have found a pretty good balance that’s okay by me.

Rokotsu uses Ogas and beat Tokido.

yup… keep dreaming mate

about me feeling offended by your words :open_mouth:

and about nightwalker not “giving advice” in his post, and clearly not getting called retard in exchange

its ok, no need to argue more about this in the “vids thread”…at least according to me, then do as you like

he won, but it looked like a bunch of randomness coupled with lacking matchup knowledge.

meh

Yeah it’s just pure randomness cause tokido had no idea what was going on, he was free to keep oga’ing the first round even on block lol.

Hi guys, a friend sent me a video showing how to dodge hadoukens with gen easily and without having to jump or make a focus, is very effective.

agreed…

if you have a dragon punch and know a little about the matchup, theres no way you opponent can get away with all those ogas… unfortunately

hi there, thats nice indeed

hard on slower projectiles though

if you (or your friend) are interested in knowing more, you can here find a character specific and projectile-specific list, made by Thebook24

umad?

Nightwalker is an exception (after all he is recent. Did I not say several months ago?). I’m still not sure what your problem is. Do you act like this in real life too?

I really don’t have a problem with you, in fact, had you not brought it up I wouldn’t have even remembered who you were. You just seem to like to pick a fight. So I was wrong about Super Gen. I admitted that a really really REALLY long time ago, and so did Seth. I’m really not sure what you want, but it’s obvious you don’t really care to stop picking out my posts so I’ll try to keep you entertained in the near future. STAY TUNED TRAPY!!

I dunno, tokido is playing Akuma, and he’s like… one of the best Akumas, if not the best? Random or not, he got beat by Gen. Maybe it is random, but I gotta hand it to him, that’s pretty cool.

sorry guys i didnt know i cause a lot of problem , i apologize to the Portugal Guys

i did this work recently so enjoy ( there something new )

oh wow

i was checking the Gen european leaderboards on XBL and i saw WarriorBySand standing out in the first places because of his 4000+ PP points… now i get to know it was you

i REALLY liked n.5, n.7 and n.9

i wonder how many characters can take the n.9 combo… i’'l have to try

tnx man your welcome i will post soon some other videos

Is there a certain time frame used when FADC’ing the hands into s.mp (or another normal)? I never used fadc that much in vanilla unless it was for mk hands re-loop but in super fadcing is much more needed I feel. But I can’t seem to combo from (example) mantis j.hp s.mp mk hands FADC c.lk etc. I cannot connect the c.lk or any normal after the fadc, is it a certain number of hits the hands have to do in order to properly combo from fadc?

after the 1st and 4th hit, that will connect for sure… hitstun is enough

after the 3rd looks like it wont connetc, have no idea of the reason

dunno about the 2nd, i think i never tried, sometimes i cancel on the 3rd by accident instead on the 4th, but it never happens that i cancel on the 2nd

edited: nevermind, i actually got curious and just tried cancelling on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th… all can be followed by sMP actually…

maybe i’m just used to cancel on the 4th hit and the few times i accidentaly do it on the 3rd i cant get the timing right because it fucks up my muscle memory
