We had a lengthy discussion about EX clap a few weeks ago. In a nutshell the move gains an additional hit in V-Trigger, resulting in a longer juggle making it possible for HP Bolt to juggle even midscreen after EX clap.
I FINALLY DID IT!! I FINALLY REACHED PLATINUM!!!
I wanna thank everyone in the Laura Shoryuken boards, my grandmother, and shoutout to my cousin Yolanda!!!
Now I can put this game away for good until next year!
Congrats! I got so discouraged by rage quitters that I stopped playing ranked a long, long time ago. Been rocking the battle lounge and have never looked back.
Congrats. Way too bad to ever get there but I’ll soon hop back on ranked to get the 300 win trophy.
Edit: Wow, ranked is a pain in the ass. Ryu, Ken, Karin, Necalli all day. Even the mid-tiers have died out.
Since there is no (or not very much, Crimson has a pocket laura) Laura representation for Capcom Cup, who are you all cheering for? Personally I like Xian’s Fang a lot.
Xian always, Crimson if he picks Laura (I can’t stand Dhalsim) and Sako because he’s sch a nice dude.
Also; Capcom, just take my money:

Oh. Mah. Gawd.
I’ll support anyone who doesn’t play top 8, which means Xian, the Vega player, Nuckledu and Ryan Hart if they play Guile, Infil if he plays Rashid or Vega and Problem X if he plays Alex, Gief or Bison. I hope it won’t be boring…
I echo that. Anyone whose not maining the top characters gets my vote. Prayers to MrCrimson though. Thats gonna be tough as hell. Excluding Zangeif because all Zangeif mainers can go fuck themselves.
So anyone watched MrCrimson in action against Momochi’s Ken? Its was kinda annoying to be honest and I felt kinda bad for the guy. Lost the first round with Laura and ditched her quick afterwards. Went straight to Dhalsim and won the second (really good play to be honest), but lost the next 2 rounds giving Momochi the win.
It was annoying because the commentators were like, “No just stick with Dhalsim for the rest.”
le sigh
He faces Problem X’s Alex for the losers bracket. I think he could chose Laura for that one.
He will stick with Sim simply because he’s a Sim main now and almost forgot every single MU with Laura. He will go for what he’s most comfortable with.
Well, he just Laura’d Problem X to the moon after losing the first round. Pretty convincing comeback and it looked rather easy. I always have trouble against Alex but this was a total massacre.
Alright good for him!
It’s sad that Laura can only do well against other mid tier characters. Crimson fights Vega next I think, after that it’s all Chuns shotos and cammys so he’s done if he beats Vega (doable).
Yeah, Vega is an entirely possible matchup for her if she doesn’t force it in the neutral to much and exploits his wakeup options (or lack thereof) after a knockdown. I think there’s a Mika somewhere in the tournament as well which would be possible, too. Unless it’s Du of course because he can switch to Guile and kill her for free.
It was just kinda funny because crimson with Laura, whether he won or lost, just looked like he hated every moment of using her. He was like, “Why am I doing this to myself?”
And yes, let a Vega slip up against Laura, pure hell…and I love it! But he can easily keep her out, the best part is its not for long.
Though he lost all the sets he played with Sim and won all the sets he played with Laura. Maybe he should think about it…
Well, I’d argue that Laura is better than Sim simply for the unpredictability of her mixups. She might not be top-tier but she can turn into the best character of the game for a second or so after landing EX Clap simply for the amount of options she has afterwards. Sim has really nothing going for him at pro level.
Worst thing is that his last match was a pretty good MU for Laura too (Nash) so it’s really hard to understand why he went back to Sim, save because he really feels himself like a Sim main now. Granted Yukadon is a pretty fucking good Nash but what does Sim really bring to the table here? He’s just a worse Nash overall.
