To be honest, when I first picked up Laura Ryu was making me regret my decision, but after a good hour or two I changed my mind. You just need patience.
Laura is REALLY good at staying close once she gets there. Instead of closing the gap with a jump-in, use a few neutral jumps so the fireball stays on screen and he can’t throw another one. Go for a qcf+LP to try and catch him throwing out his next fireball. You’ll be safe on block and you’ll score a combo if you stuff the fireball startup. If you’re ahead in life and Ryu is trying to keep you out, neutral jump all day.
so is qcf.lp safe on block? Is her v-skill overhead? it says mid. The last street fighter i played was CVS2. I skipped all of SF4 series so when i see mid im thinking overhead like tekken. Or am i wrong?
(Mostly) yes and yes. qcf+LP has a very minor frame disadvantage on block. Probably won’t be safe vs Zangief but we’ll soon find out. Mid is indeed for overheads.
I lost a LOT of matches to Ryus in the first few hours of playing with Laura. My problem was I wasn’t rushing down enough and setting up fireballs after knockdowns. I made that adjustment, and I started winning against the Ryu army. A lot of Ryus like ducking and poking with their jab I think, so I think I can get away with a fireball, backdash into overhead kick? I’m going to try that see how that works because that’s the main thing that bugs me fighting against them. I can deal with fireballs with neutral jumps and ex through them when I’m close enough. Does she have any decent wakeups because I feel like once I’m down though, the match is done when I’m against a skilled opponent. Overall, I love playing as her.
No frame advantage it is like minus 1 or 2. The opponent can throw you after it if you mash jab but you tech the throw through. It only looks safe because the block stun last for ever LOL.
Does laura have any links besides forward+HP, cr.Lp or stand LP? I couldnt get anything else to work. Seems weird with all the others having links. Even dhalsim has cr.fp, b+mk.
Not sure if anyone found out this lset up if not yay I’m the 1st onelol. So after landing a CC fierce do anther one right into her fire ball. Literally right After you do that move you command grab their ass :D. It happens so fast that they won’t see it coming
Edit: OK guys I think I’m starting to get her now. Her go to move is standing MP. The opponent can’t hit any button unless it is a invincibility reversal or armour move.
You can follow with HP for CC if you notice your oppont like to use a medium button or heavy button after block stun
You can follow standing MK for counter hit if you notice your opponent smashing jab works for meduim and heavy buttons too and you can link standing lk or crouch lp
This is true if Cammy’s crouch lp is 3 frames and crouch mo if 4 frames
I got the jab and strong on reversal timing for Cammy try it out guys.
What’s the deal with her v skill now? Can you not do b+v skill, then neutral v skill anymore? When you hit the neutral v skill, she just dashes back forward.
