LP Bolt can be +1 on block. they can do command grab unless you use your 3f jab.
VSO however is -4 at best, so they can’t grab you after that. Are you sure they didn’t hit you instead?

I’m positive. I’m going to lab it because I know that overhead quite well and how to punish it. I was shocked when I got grabbed. If I can find a way that it works, I will post the youtube video asap. I’m pretty sure it was me.

This is what I saw in one of your posts: “Uses VT/EX command grab to set up a L Bolt that is +1 on block and +7 on CH.”

Are these the only situations? on EX or VT command grab?

You can meaty in any situation if you manage to land the hit on last frame, this is the only one guaranteed 100%.

May someone help me with why I get hit by a jab when I try to command grab. Here’s a 10 sec video.

Too early I guess

Too early? You have this problem before?

You did it either too early or too late. You need to get him the moment he gets off the ground. Him with a 4 frame jab against a 5 frame grab will stuff you if your not precise.

Honestly I’d rather do the fwd+hp whiff after the lp bolt from EX FB. Much better imo.

I’ve practiced the timing for about 30 mins and I get stuffed for about 90% of the time. I’ll try the fwd-hp option. See how that goes. Anyway, VFrames says the cg is 6F, is the app no longer up-to-date?

No that’s not correct. Id go with a different app, the last time that was updated was back in September, so it didnt apply the overhaul of the Season 2 changes in December. I would download FDV (Frame Data V) to use instead.

I dl’ed it thx.

Alright guys… I have been experimenting with something so simple and stupid but damn it works…
If you have CA and your opponent block your lp. bolt charge just spam CA like your life depended on it and it will hit them if they try to challenge with a jab… so this is dumb right? Nope… against people who adapt quickly its fkn amazing because they’ll block in anticipation of the CA and boom… free lk SPD.

If you are reading this Strider and you wanna steal the tech MAKE SURE YOU SAY ITS FROM YOUSCAREDNOOB YO

Found a new funny VT setup:

VTC, st. HP xx EX clap, VSF, (delayed wake-up) lv3 M clap, f+HP

You end up at least +2 and barely in front of the clap.
> grabs will beat blocking and buttons
> if they jump they may get caught in the fireball or by your H bolt
> if they try to tech you can walk back or stand still and let them get caught by the fireball
> if they backdash they can be beaten as usual by st. HP

Guys I read that after a ex clap you can hit hp and then do vskill to follow up and switch sides of you want, I always end up on the same side after the vskill so how do I land in back of them? I mean this is what I do: connect with an ex clap (fireball), do a standing hp, do a forward vskill (just tap it so the overhead doesn’t come out. But I always end up on the same side, if I hold forward a little more I end up on the other side but because I do the overhead. Any suggestions?

It depends on the character you’re facing and how close you are to them. On big bodied characters you’ll always end same side, while on small bodied characters you can end on the opposite side if you’re close enough.

an absolute must ist that you do MP xx EX.FB instead of HP xx EXFB as far as I can tell. That gives you the oportunity to choose the side you want to be. If you follow up with a quick HP -> VSF you’ll get behind them. If you delay your HP and do the VSF pretty late, you’ll stay in front of them.

I decided to try this against all the cast and I found something cool.

  • If you do it against cammy you can start a full combo with st/cr hp because her recovery is huge.
  • It works against karin, but only in vtrigger and you have to be fast.
  • Against kolin and rashid you can use your vskill overhead instead of vskill back.
  • Against nash you can react to the flash with ex command grab (this was known already).
  • Against vega you can vskill forward and sweep to punish his punch vreversal (the long one). You can punish the close one in different ways but at that point you have to guess which one he’s going to use and I don’t like it. I think you’re still at plus frames if you vskill forward and he does the close one though

I noticed a setup that most Laura players started using after Wolfkrone first showcased it. It very basically consists in doing EX command grab after ending a blockstring with st. MP. For some reason it catches opponents walking back pretty often.

Did the new trials this morning. Most of it is stuff I already knew… besides canceling standing lk into bolty line.

I feel really dumb about that. I was just using it as pressure and a meaty.

Found a neat tech that I don’t think anyone is using.

We all know that cancelling anything from st.mp moves Laura forward.
For example: just spam st.mp and you’ll know what I mean.

The tech I found is that st.mp xx h.bolt will ALWAYS cross up with the exception of Gief due to his wider figure. (Haven’t fully tested against the whole cast)

So on block, on hit AND on counter hit (even with the counter hit pushback) it will cross up.

This should open up a whole new level of mix ups in conjunction with level of 1/2 charged thunderclaps.

I’ll probably make a video of 2 useful setups I’ve found later on.

I still haven’t figured out how to choose a side when doing something like st.mp>exFireball>st.hp>vskill.
I mean it doesn’t matter how slow or fast I do vskill I end up on either side with me not knowing. Is there a sure trick to actually choose the side you’ll end up on?
