I’m not sure if I find this gossiping (about real actual human beings) more distasteful than the fact that people are calling it “staged”, as if this were professional wrestling. The former at least indicates a level of interest with what’s going on, whereas the latter is just something stupid people like to do to make themselves feel smart.

I think the players and their conflicts are just as interesting as the gameplay. That’s why people cheer for the underdog, root for the hometown hero and despise the cocky villain. That match between Laugh and Infiltration was just sad. I still remember when nobody took Infiltration or Laugh seriously, but they just kept showing up, tournament after tournament. One friend supporting the other. This is why I love the FGC community, because that’s what it is; a community. It’s just really sad to see such a strong friendship fall apart, and I’m just interested in knowing what happened.
And before the ubiquitous “get a life” comments appear, I just spent 5 hours watching people play Street Fighter on a computer screen while eating a bag of Cheetos. This IS my life. Ok, I’m lying; it was a bag of generic cheese snacks.

Seriously though, if there is a further rift that develops between them that would suck. Both of them seemed like really chill down to earth guys, some of my favorites in the fgc. Hope this isnt indicative of anything to come.

Dude just by looking at their facial expressions I felt the tension on my room. And after infiltration won they didn’t even look at each other… If I’m playing a friend of mine, let alone a practice partner and I knock him out the biggest tournament of the year, I’d give that man a hug and apologize like a true friend. You could visually tell laugh was upset but them dude didnt even look at each other.
It’s unfortunate, but it happens. It’s unfair to expect people are going to set up a bracket in your favor.
