Hmm Ducky I’m taking it from the LOL face that you won’t be re-enlisting. I remember back when you got promoted… Not trying to venture further down the military road? Can’t say I blame you… but maybe that’s because my F18 mechanic ass is a postal clerk in Africa… you can count on me not staying in. I remember back when I had this romantic view of what the military was going to be like… and I had this romantic view that it would make me a better person… Now I’m just more of an asshole, skeptical of everything, and don’t like people. But at least I’ve learned not to count on anyone.
This past Christmas Eve, I was on PCS leave. My mom’s side of the family is over and I find out my uncle was in Special Forces for 19 years…DUTCH Special Forces. He was telling about how whenever they did field exercises, they’d be given either an:
A) Goat
or
B) Sheep
And they’ve have to kill it and clean it and cook it and eat it. He said Goats were always better to get because Sheeps were a pain in the ass to clean.
Anyways, I think you can buy single MRE’s in any Commissary…but they’re like 6 or 7 bucks a pop. Of the ones I’ve had so far, the Tuna one is my favorite because instead of nasty “prison food” for the main course you have actual, pre-packaged, brand-name food (Starkist FTW).
I’m headed to Ft. Polk for JRTC in March. Not looking forward to that…nothing but MRE’s and Field Chow for a month straight. X-X
Ducky, are you gonna be ETS’ing? My ETS date is May 29, 2011, but I have the feeling Stop Loss will rear its ugly head before then and force me to stay in for another year. 
I should actually be an E-6 now. Just because of my legal issues that is being held up, along with my reenlistment. The issue is being worked on right now… the Army doesn’t want to see a Soldier like me leave, so I’m pretty sure everything will fall into place sooner or later.
don’t worry. you’re shit hot and they aren’t exactly trying to let people go right now. If you say you want to stay, they’ll work to keep you in. here’s a question. I’m pretty sick and tired of hicksville, LA and I want to take a vacation somewhere to help ease my mind somewhat. is Hawaii a good place to visit?

I hope it all goes well. I’m going to start ACAP (Army Career and Alumni Program… the pre-exit program) soon just in case. Hawaii is really nice, I love living here. I don’t ever want to leave… except maybe when I retire or something. Depends on what you enjoy doing though. Some people love it and some people hate it - I find that Hawaii is a little polarizing. The culture shock is a little too much for some people and for people who hate the beach and tropical weather it’s not an ideal vacation.
Its late at night and Im talking to people just to practice social skills. A chubby girl in class is busting on me in a flirty way but takes it too far. She says “Youre so gunna be my pizzaboy later on in life without a job” and “Are you high?” in a flirty way because I used to respond to it. Now its just getting annoying and people are laughing at me. I cant think of anythin to say anymore haha. She’s tough as balls, but there are some hot girls in class so I cant take anymore of this “lower my social standing.”
Last problem I thought Id ever have haha.

well, it’s 30-minutes out from the end of a successful independance day. I didn’t really get out and do anything, but it was a good day to just sit, eat, and watch some TV marathons like to catch a predator. except for the headache, it hasn’t been a bad day. I hope tomorrow won’t be bad. I need to get outside and put some miles on my feet and search for some work. being able to not work is fun, but not being able to find a job sucks worse than Dat Madden.
