^That’s along the lines of what I was thinking. I like the idea of TOL/SRK Lounge, just a general thread where people can post about random stuff and what not. It’s just a matter of cutting out the “post count+1” posts.
Pretty much. I think the biggest change would be that we would actually state the rules upfront, so we have grounds to ban people should the need arise.

as far as my late night post, not much is happening here. The only main change here is that I’m doing something I should’ve done at least a year ago, that being that I’ll soon be starting a mutual fund. if I had pulled my collective head from my ass back then I’d probably be sitting on top of a fat stack right now. well, better late than never eh? if any of you have good tips for a new investor, I’m all ears.
game-wise, I’m working on beating E.S.P.Ra De on one credit. It would probably be easier to hang on to the underside of a car going cross-country, but nobody ever accused us shooter fans of being easy going people. Damn bitch at the end is freaky. there’s this group called the red hat ladies over here and she looks like an evil version of one of them. the fact that she wipes my ass off the screen doesn’t make it any better either. well, wish me luck or throw me a sandwhich every so often. The reason I read this thread in the first place is because RC closed the TOL thread (TOL, dating thread, Atlantic North, and CvS2 forum are all I regularly visit). I come in here now and see you doing something I specifically asked you to please chill with a couple months ago (when you were making jokes at my expense and comparing me to some other retard forum member while I was on break).
I have a certain respect for certain people around here, but seriously, talking negatively about people behind their backs is a behavior I don’t tolerate in my real life friends, girls, or anybody else. And an online forum where I like to regularly socialize (just like you) is no exception.

I wouldn’t have called it a “closed knit clique” or “clique” of any kind. We’re just people posting that have a few common interests, or are working or belong to a part of something that’s similar, and can relate on some aspects to one another’s rants and things like that. At the sametime, being able to validate each others opinions, even when we disagree and/or argue or flame.
I guess alot of it is occupation related, since a good portion of us are military or prior. So there’s a lot of bitching and complaining to be had, cause that’s just how it is. It’s cool to always have someone that can relate to random bullshit we complain about everyday.
**Bottom line:**IMO this thread is kind of like a watercooler, smoke break area(i don’t smoke though), or something like that. Except it’s just called Late Night.
Wherever you work, everyone has the group of people that can agree or relate with them on some level of occupation, so you can rant, complain and sweat the small stuff.
I don’t even have, or chat with most of the regulars in this thread over AIM, MSN, etc. If I do have them on AIM, i just say a couple of things every now and then. But most of the talking is done in this thread.
I kind of consider this like i said, a watercooler or smoke break area or some shit. I don’t hang out afterwork with everyone there but I DO know that I can always count on the ‘break time’ and can relax and get enjoyment out of chilling with them at those times.
Maybe it’s just me that’s looking at the thread wrong, or using it the wrong way. I don’t go around LJ’ing my posts though, cause no one would read that shit anyway. You’d be the guy that talks too much, who won’t shut the fuck up.
