Online is relatively fine on LAN. You’ll start noticing the delay more as you go to excellent or lower though. You can also use 0746’s P2P client which is much much smoother but requires you have to the person’s IP.
0746 has implemented something of a master game list in the most recent version. It seems like nobody uses it though. You can view public games by clicking on “waiting games” on the connect tab in the p2p client. The creator of the game has to mark it as public.
Yeah, like you said, not a lot of people are using it yet though.
Speaking of the P2P client… IMO it’s a totally different experience even compared to playing on Excellent in public servers. If any of you guys haven’t tried it you should. You’ll feel the difference immediately.
i still cant figure out why p2p doesnt work when i try it
Are you acting as a host or a client?
Host
- Are you correctly forwarding the appropriate ports?
- Have you modified your firewall rules to allow the incoming traffic?
- Are you running the most current version of the P2P client?
Client
- Do you have a software firewall or client security suite installed on your system? Is it configured to allow the appropriate traffic?
- Are you running the most current version of the P2P client?
- (not very likely) If you’re doing egress filtering on your firewall have you permitted the appropriate traffic?
I’ll play anyone at Lb2 with p2p,as long as there isn’t too much delay.
edit:
Setsuna is hosting an lb2 kaillera server.
If anyone wants to come just enter the ip- mameparadise.no-ip.org
Anyone who’s in the east should get a decent ping.
