Ok guys tournaments in Corpus Christi, TX are official! The Tilt corporate manager called me from St. Louis this evening to discuss this whole tournament idea with me. He said we can hold them as long as they are pay to play (people pay for their matches). These tournaments will only feature Marvel vs Capcom 2 because our arcade lacks in recent games or other games such as CvS2 or GGXX.
The first one will be on SATURDAY, May 10 and will BEGIN at roughly 3pm. This means you should show up around 2pm or 2:30 to sign up and pay entrance. That’s about the time I’ll show up to collect $ and setup bracks and what not. I’m not sure whether these will be held weekly or bi-weekly. I’m going to ask some people after the first and see what everyone else prefers.
Location: Tilt in Padre Staples Mall (2nd floor)
Entrance fees = $10. $5 of your entrance fee will go towards paying for your matches. If there is any left over from this money, it will go to first place’s prize.
Prizes: 1st - 70% of pot, 2nd - 20% of pot, and 3rd - 10% of pot.
So I hope to see you guys there, please spread the word as much as possible!!! I really want these to go well.

I’m with him, i think when power play was here it was better, then tilt had to come along and ruin everything. they beat out power play and didnt have to improve cuz they had no compettion. they should bring back power play or get some new games for godsakes. and ddr dont count cuz tilt got it sooo late.
Damn dudes… what happened? When I lived there I saw the arcade in the mall go from Yesterdays, to Power Play, and then Tilt… they always had the top notch games… that Tilt is the first place I ever saw MvC1 … and it was on the big cabinet to boot… but yeah… when it was Power Play… had like 5 World Warrior and 4 CE cabinets… my Mecca… how I miss the place…

Power Play was awesome. I remember when Street Fighter Alpha came in. EVERYONE was playin that shit. Chun and Sagat goin at it all the time. Sagat was so awesome because of how big he was. I also remember Xmen COTA, wreckin shop with Omega Red and my friend Matt was a bad ass Storm player, Anthony was a Wolvie player and blah blah blah. It was a great place while it was there.
Yes you can have tournaments at Tilt. I talked to the senior VP of the corporation on the phone! They said as long as the tourney is pay to play you can have it. you can put flyers up as long as they look professional. You can go to www.tilt.com and e-mail them if you want, they respond very quickly.

yea tourney;s would be great at our tilt but our tilt lacks one thing…new games. i mean they jus got ddr and they think thats gonna change anything. the damn coins dont even go in half the time, you gotta bang the damn thing to make it work. ill im sayin is that we need some more variety. mvc2 and ddr is all thats worth goin there and ill say that i dont even play mvc2(except on console) tilt needs to get thieir heads together or we wont even have an arcade to play at down here
too true…but I think DDR boosted their sales or whatever you call it a lot. I bet that game makes more money than the rest of the whole arcade. I always see people playin on the mother. Oh and I’ve decided to take up MvC2 again. It was funny yesterday cuz I came into Tilt and Kev was there play Marvel and the first match I beat him. Then he played again, beat me and I beat him yada yada… it was fun. Then I went and played DDR cuz Kevin left.

Yeah thats why I killed his Ironman!! seriously though, when he doesn’t screw things up, his Ironman is pretty good. He caught me off guard with a few things the other day. Oh and those other people are Nic(evilwar)and Damien(Tiger Genocide). Damien used to live here and I think Nic is still here. One more thing, I’ll try to make it up to tilt tomorrow, so you f00s better be there … or be square.
