No no no, its that there were a big discussion here about how useful is and how difficult is to pull it out in a match

Oh its not you man, no worries. Its just that we get someone new in here about every two weeks that doesnt play Gouken saying “I was playing a Gouken and he countered and then it cancelled into Ultra, how he’d do this??!?!”. Then we also get people new to Gouken about every month that play and do it then come here like “OMGGG I was playing and I countered and then Ultra’d. How’d I do that?!?”. Then theres this looong repetitive debate about it. Its cool, yes, but very difficult and borderline useless.

To explain, its just a simple armor cancel, same as Rog, Fuerte and the others. Theres just alot of inquiries about it and we have the same debate constantly. So its nothing against you because you didnt know.

no matches to find last night. …so more os labs…theyre most likely improperly named…i was tired and got lazy, at the point of impact the dive kick lp kongo seems to vary. there are some odd variations once spacing changes. i think its all relative insde the input delay window…

Interesting. I did not even know Gouken can do air tatsu this low. I have never managed to cancel a blocked dj.mp into air Tatsu.

I’ve never been able to do it on the smaller characters. Even ryu is a challenge sometimes. But it’s easy enough on the tall guys. It’s a good round ending chip against seth. hk air tatsu, iirc, has the distinction of doing the same amount of damage whether it hits or is blocked.

There was a vid going around a long time ago… but the input was jump qcb > then press punch and kick in sorta like a plink motion. This will allow you to get it on all character types.

^ That’s certainly an easier way to do it.

for air tatsu, a fun extra option after forward throw is dash, pause/step, forward jump, mk air tatsu over their wakeup. Depending on your pause or step, you can hit frontside or crossover, and if you get it perfect, you can actually get first hit frontside, 2nd hit crossover, which I have never seen anybody successfully block.

Its pointless though unless you’re gonna safe jump it. Hitting anyone other than Gief, Hawk or Seth crouching is damn near impossible. On top of that its really risky because not everyone st blocks when you’re jumping at them, especially if it looks like and early jump…people will just block low sometimes. You do the motions and the mp will whiff and tatsu will come out, not even touching your opponent so you cant even see the fail and cancel. Even if you safe jump it correctly, you’ve already input the motions for the tatsu, so if someone does something invincible and the mp whiffs, the tastu is already coming out and you cannot block. You will get hit.

You’d be much better off doing the safe jump looking version and just doing the tatsu, no mp so it crosses up. Using that mp and trying to chip when you can just cross them up for the same damage/kill is just not smart imo.

the funny thing is ive been using te knockdown jmp airtatsu vs srk since i did it to an evil ryu just tought it was funny since fromfrom that range all but ex gets handled, i shoot it it misses they usually jumped back, no one knows its coming otherwise…

i put the low airtatsu for the homies cuz that was the lowst i ever got that either…just wanted to show it…

i was messing around and put some double os shit in training or some crap…i am the last in technicsl abilities…but man that input delay window allows some unreal os shit maybe negative edge but…i should have and was gonna record this last one at like 5am…fb fadc, then if cl mp hits you get ex tatsu if far mp hits you get ex air tatsu to chase em down…but ten coukdnt get the one that that takes off forward to come out only the one that starts backwards…no bs. thats what im stressin off at like 330 this morning…

Yeah, that’s what I do, it crosses up and in most cases you’re completely safe if whiffed. Only thing that can hit you are far fat ex moves like ex machine gun blow, ex rush punch from Makoto and things like that. And that’s if the person has reactions like that and happened to be ducking on the jump in which isnt likely.

Nope. Just put your hands together and pray for a miracle…

that one is weird because either buttons or on timing of impact can turn it into a basic dj mp safe jump i believe, ive seen so much variation there its crazy…their is ex flip os from exait also:-):-)…def have to find out for sure

anyone know how negative edge affects stuff in os world?

im always doing hardknock then timing to hit em just as they srk but, ah ah ah im on the crossup side already

I tested it in the lab. Out of the 40 times I tried it I only managed what you did once. Every other time It turns into a whiffed anti-air tatsu rather than an air tatsu. I’m thinking there is really only 1 frame of timing to do that.

It is totally not worth it. Sure as heck is cool if you can pull it off though. Against character that are huge and occasionally have to block high, I think it isn’t such a bad idea. Thinking Thawk maybe… everyone else would just SRK your ass.

but they never seem to, srk that is…works best w ex and for chip…again add it to the 100 things you never do twice in a gouken match…also an os ex tatsu vs srks is a good one ive been usinf off of the dj mp just normal wo iat…is very solid
