This is now the highlight of my week. I don’t know if that’s a bad thing or not.
Also, I hope to see a little Lei Lei over there. She’s more popular there as a character, and the Japanese are more willing to mess around with bad/unconventional/underused characters it seems. Hell, the Tenrai Ha-Gong loop that’s standard for all five people who play her is from a Japanese video I found on a whim.
Hmm. Well, hopefully there’ll be more events like this and he’ll show up. I want to see what they can do with her that we may not be doing (is that possible?).
There’s nothing iffy about it. In most games in Japan you get one match. Even one match of 3S, GG, Blazblue or SFIV is random as fuck and your tournament life depends on one match each part of the bracket throughout the entire tournament. They could have stuck with tradition and did single elim, one match but they know a single round game with XF involved that’s impossible to do.
You might as well say every tournament for every game in Japan is iffy if 2/3 single elim is iffy. 2/3 single elim in any other game would be GENEROUS in Japan. LOL.
I thought they were gonna go hard and do one match but since the tourney is semi US run I guess they can mess with the rules a bit. Plus I think if UMVC3 had an arcade release they would probably do 2/3 matches due to the nature of the game having no rounds + XF.
Yeah dis tournament gonna be kinda ass for me without dat Condor Missile Iron Man anchorage.
I’m still mad sad I don’t see Kusoru on here, but especially Nemo. Heard repeatedly from multiple sources that Nemo was supposedly the best in Japan during vanilla, and I still have never seen that dude play.
