So because “console sucks” you guys are purposely holding a tournament on the same day as a major SoCal event.
Honestly most of the KS2 knuckleheads (myself included) were at the first WCW and, from what I remember, all had a really good time. If you guys are holding a tournament on the same day as this one just to spite it or prove a point I think you’re being really childish. I know for a fact a ton of NorCal (including half of KS2 and probably the stream team) is going to WCW3, holding a tournament on the same day just means you’re making these people miss out on whatever arcade-loyal self-righteousness is going down in NorCal on the 15th.
If “KS2 PRODUCTIONS” really believes CS is the devil and AC rules all then how come KS2 traded in all its cabs for Asus monitors? And how come KS2 single-handedly put SJGL arcade’s fighting game department out of business? How come KS2 events are always held at the SJB&G instead of SVGL or MGL? If you wanna call WCW3 sell-outs for trying to run big tournaments for SSFIV (and being forced to use console to do so) then go ahead but I’m having trouble seeing how SJB&G’s tournaments are any different.
I feel like this decision is dividing the community by forcing them to make a choice, rather than uniting it.
It is common courtesy to try and avoid conflicting dates with another event in a nearby region. But if this was unavoidable, then although unfortunate, the show must go on and this is just another tournament.
But saying things like fuck another event because it is on console and supporting this event which has 3 of 4 events running on console makes no sense at all. Attending or not attending an event is at your discretion and there is no need to put down another event simply because of conflicting dates. This kind of negativity does nothing for the community.
Miranda, note that the fuck WCW/console comments did not come from people directly behind KS2 productions, so no need to be upset or question KS2 Productions.
When I first started planning this tournament I only looked at other tournaments that were going on in NorCal. Since this is a somewhat smaller scaled tournament than a “major” I felt no need to look at other “majors” going on regional or national. It wasn’t until after everything was confirmed and posted that I realized it landed on the same day as WCW and felt I didn’t need to change the date since its only a smaller local tournament.
I’m sorry if some people are upset about not being able to make this event due to prior WCW plans. Not everyone in NorCal is going to WCW, so this is a good opportunity for our locals to get in on some action that weekend. This isn’t going to be the only MGL tournament this year, in fact I plan to hold these kind of tournaments monthly or bi-monthly. So relax, have fun, its not the end of the world. This will be a good weekend for Cali whether you can make it to WCW or not.
i love that this event is going on, because i think its great for Nor Cal players that cant afford to make it down to WCW. Thank You KS2 For Putting This on!
I think this shit is chill, Not everyone wants to go to WCWZ or whatever the fuck the acronym is. Why is everyone hating over hype
Im down for the weed smoking part lol.
