entry fee: 2,000 won
prizes: gift certificates for the following amounts:
1st place: 30k won

3rd place: 10k won
we will also be taking pictures of top 3, as well as a group pic.

as for tourney style, you’ll have to check with laugh, but my guess is that it’s single elim, but with some kind of “come back” possibility… not really sure how it works. plus you might not be able to switch characters…?

yeah i kinda figured korea might be a place where money matches are usually beef related. lots of old money matches back in canada had a lot of shit talking behind them. but pride is honestly the only thing on the line during almost every money match so i’m happy that you guys do race to 10’s.

poongko and janet (good boxer player) visited our arcade today.
as usual, poongko’s ryu was untouchable.
but i was pleasantly surprised to find that i could take him on when he played some of the other characters. i just assumed that a player of his calibur would be able to pwnt with everyone on the roster, but this was not true. maybe he really does spend most of his time perfecting ryu.
in short, his bison was no help in learning the match up. at all.
well, i’m heading to cali tomorrow night. i’ll be back around the 14th of february. i hope all of you make it out to the tourney and beat poongko. kakaka. that dude gets really upset when he loses.

there’s a lot of high level players that i know of that get DRASTICALLY shittier when they don’t play their main. i was one of them in third strike when i didn’t pick chun. i couldn’t win with SHIT. but now i’d say i’m fairly good with half the rooster. at least back in the day before sf4.
maybe i’ll be able to put some faces to the screennames at laugh’s new tournament at isu this sunday. anyway, nobody should like losing haha. you’ll have to wait in line again!
edit: hey eoneo, what arcade do YOU usually play at? the only one with good challengers usually fairly often i’ve been to was green arcade at daerlim. isu had one dude playing both times when i went and jungin arcade had NOBODY the two times i went. i went for like 10 minutes, beat the computer and went home haha
haha, well, as for poongko losing, he didn’t have to wait. it was just basically all of us taking turns against him. even if he lost, it was still his turn. but i have to admit i hate losing to someone who’s way less skilled than me too haha.
i totally saw your name on the records on the jungin sf4 machine. like 2nd place or something with akuma. but akuma has raging demon, so it doesn’t count.
btw you usually have to go after 5pm to meet the decent players. i usually went on the weekdays, myself.
my arcade is dongbang in shinlim. it’s right next to seoul university. i’m 99% sure i put up the directions in the sf4 machine locator thread (i think by ultradavid). let me know if you need help getting there.
i always brag about how our arcade probably has the most consistent flow of decent players in seoul. i think it’s probably because all of them live within walking distance (including me…haha). i encourage you to come by some time. it’s open everyday from 11am to 3am, and you can usually find good players from about 1am to 1am (except maybe sundays).
if you’d like, i could put up a message for you in the korean street fighter board that laugh runs, so people know when you’re coming. we really like it when someone good visits. people line up to test our dong bang pride against “outsiders” haha.
hey eoneo. i wanna check out your arcade! it sounds like it has good comp. i’m honestly not that great at sf4. i’m basically playing ONLY through my skill in other fighting games. well not totally true but when i first came to korea, it was basically like that. but i should match up well against any player. as in i should be at least able to trade with their non best guy HAHAHA laugh is the best player i’ve played so far in sf4 and he says pyongko is way better so anyway
