cafe id is still open 24/7 afaik. the only problem now is that not many sf players go there now. heaps of kof players there.
last time i went there i saw them playing diablo3 haha
you probably have to contact people to come before you go there
otherwise you will end up playing online i think
Hi everyone! I am an english teacher coming from Nor Cal and am looking for people to play with offline. I brought a ps3 with umvc3/sfxt/sfae/kof13.
The problem I am having is that I dont have a stick with me and have no idea where to get one out here.
I currently live in geumgok-dong, namyangju-si.
Wow, that’s really tough. I’ve only been out in that area once or twice, but never to Namyangju.
I know you can get sticks in Seoul. Closest place you could go in Seoul that would for sure have them would be to take the train from Geumgok station to Gangbyeon station. There’s a Technomart from the station.
Offline play, that I know of, would be in the same vein, go to Seoul. Your closest bet would be Cheonho station. I have a Youtube video showing you how to get from the station to the arcade, but it may have changed since I made that video…that was last year, and exit 5 was closed, and you had to go through E-Mart to get to the street.
Offline comp’s really going to be hard out that far. You have well over an hour trip into Seoul, and I don’t know of any foreigners or top players out that way.
Thanks for the reply, I’ll take a look at the technomart around the weekend.
I would have no problem traveling to seoul to find some comp, can you link the video or your youtube page?
Consider it done:

Helloooo everyone. I’ve recently moved to Seoul in the seucho area.
This is my first weekend coming up here and I would absolutely love to meet up with some of you folks for a nice long session of either umvc3, SF4 or SFxT. I don’t have my xbox up here yet and I am ITCHING to play! don’t have a stick up here yet either…not sure about how I’m going to get my folks to ship them up but it MUST BE DONE.
A little about me: Been a fairly longtime poster on here, jumped on the bandwagon when SF4 came out and am a dedicated Dictator player. I’m Korean American and lived in Daejeon at the time but due to a bunch of Hagwon politics and essentially being treated like garbage and not getting paid properly etc. I decided to book it.
During my time here I played a bit with laugh and a lot with ande and you were very welcoming although I never got to meet up with em or any of you folks in person. maybe I met a few of you during AE release but probably didn’t lead to many sessions.
So I’m back with a vengeance and have a fantastic new hagwon job. I’m planning on sticking around for sure this time, so I’d really like to meet you folks and the rest of the community here whether expats or natives.
I’ve got a really long long week ahead of me after this weekend, I’ve got training sessions in the morning, I’m tutoring my boss’s son afterwards, and then I have regular teaching till 8 o clock. Bah humbug…anyways if anyone wants to host a session and has an extra stick or if any of you guys are having a get together at an arcade, please send me a PM! I have a cellphone and K-talk and all that jazz so no problems there as far as setting up a time/place and communicating. number is 010-3506-7858. Home sessions are fine too, especially over some good food and beers/soju
Okay that’s all for now fellow SRKers. Look forward to hearing from you all.
Thanks for the link!
laudanum, I live about 1 hour away from you in geumgok-dong and i don’t have sticks yet =( =(. I’ve been really itching to play marvel but I do play almost every game.
I will try to check out that arcade tonight, if you wanna try and meet up let me know on here (I dont have a cell phone yet).
Seucho or Seocho? Never heard of a Seucho area, so that’s why I ask
If the latter, you’re uber close to Isu, which means you’re definitely in the realm of possibility of getting some players in.
You could also go to Cheonho to meet up with SqrL, it’s just a little longer trip. But it’s only a half hour, not so bad, but it depends on your station.
well im leaving korea guys. my year is done, and my flight is today. it was great playing with yall. take care
We’ll have to catch up sometime when we’re in the states. Definitely not this time, I’m going to have to stay in the Midwest, but definitely sometime.
seocho yes that’s what I meant I’m still getting used to the romanization.
sqrl would be down to meetup but it might be difficult because of lack of communication
ideas?
since you mention midwest, ill be station in kansas. maybe we can work something eventually on fb lol
so i put in an order for a hori soul calibur stick, amazon adds about 20$ for shipping to south Korea
coming to iD cafe tomorrow from america
I only have K Talk at the moment. ID is Velius
hope theres a good turn out apparently tomorrow is the last day before everyone goes to evo and the place is closed
Well i made a SRK account just for this forum. Im living in Korea for a month and was hoping to play some 2D fighters while i am here. I actually mainly play Melty and havent really tried Capcom fighters but im very open.
I was wondering if you guys could give me locations to play, since it is hard to find out if the arcade is still open or whatnot.
There is a Melty cab at Isu station for sure! Line 4 or 7 gets you there! I have a video guide on how to find the arcade from the station on my Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/MissingPersonSRK
It’s the last video I’ve uploaded, so it’s pretty easy to find.
Haha I actually just found the place online and was planning on checking it out. Also what is this Id cafe thing
epilogue can i ask where u are staying at?
Checked out the Melty Blood cab at Isu. Very Very Very little competition qq.
Sqrl im staying in Apgujeong
cool man, dunno how to play melty blood but if ur willing to teach im willing to learn =). Lets try and schedule a meetup with landanum
