You can’t customize it like 98UM’s Ultimate mode. This is what I’ve been able to determine:
Advance Gauge’s Max Mode: KOF 2002’s Max mode
Extra Gauge’s Max Mode: KOF 2000’s Armor Mode
Special Gauge’s Max Mode: KOF 2000’s Counter Mode
Also, Special Gauge has rolling (not evade) and super cancelling.

96 AE and 98 AE each have things that make them pretty good but I’ll say that 96 AE is better. Besides the fact that King freezes the game (and I’m sure some other characters with new moves do the same thing), it uses the old 98 input reader except… it feels worse than 98! It’s probably the Kawaks input lag but 96 AE inputs definitely feel better. I’ll just make a tl;dr version of it

Like digimonemporer said, 2k2 3rd strike is exactly 2k2 with tagging. I don’t think anything has been changed and no you can’t do tag combos like in 2k3 or XI. Seems like it plays a bit faster? I don’t know. Taunting makes you change your color.
so yeah, they’re all hardcoded into kawaks and 98 ae comes with old kaillera.ddl which you can just replace with the one you use for nfba or ggpo and come into #snkplaymore for matchmaking!

I played a bit of 96AE, and it’s really nice to play a KOF on the Geo that has silky smooth controls. Haven’t really dug into just yet, and I haven’t played any KOF’s in forever, so it’ll take me awhile to get back up to speed.
I’ll be all for some netplay battles in the next few days. I don’t suppose there’s any way to get this on Kaillera?
Edit: Let me just say, and I think everyone here all ready knows it, but 96AE is 10X better than the original. It could be my new favorite KOF (not counting XI which I have yet to play) we just need an online scene going.

Are there any cheats for the version digimonemperor linked to last (the kawaks one) so i can just make a practice mode? Ie turn off time infinent health blah blah you know the drill
