It confounds me how there are still people saying that the game looks like a ps2 game. Even a friend of mine said it looked like a ds game, I nearly fell out of my seat in shock. Clearly these people are looking at a different game

Well, is not bad like a PS2 game like some people without any kind of knowledge about games say, but KOF XIV should improve its lighting and shadding a lot.
Look at this image for example. Besides the funny thing, watch Ken’s face lights and shadows and then look Ryo’s. You can see the differences that make one game more “next gen” looking than the other.

Yeah, like someone said earlier in this thread, the characters have their own specific lightning. So while Geese, Kim, and Andy in the beginning looked incredibly basic, later on they’ll get polished to PS4 level.
