Aye, just because we’ve seen a chara in a trailer, it doesn’t mean they’re really ready for play, even internally.
I’m just happy we get to see ANY play (we know so little, even seeing more normals is educational), and we really haven’t gotten to know this build yet either.
Because you can just bring a dev’s workstation and have them compile the code everytime to demo the game, all while asking people to “hey, ignore these 20 characters who we haven’t announced that are missing moves, textures, voices, sounds, etc.” and “don’t touch these options because they’ll crash the game, and don’t do this and that new mechanic we’re trying out since they’ll also crash the game as well”.
Creating a public build takes time away from actual development time. You need to fork the code off and then build something presentable by taking out the parts they can’t show yet, while trying to hide any bugs that they know about or that may pop up because of what they’re doing to make a public build.
Alright fine I was out of line. It’s just that it’s been awhile since we got anything and after he last trailer I really wanted to see the new characters and build. Also what happened to the portraits why do they look so good now.
It still is an updated build from the one we saw at PSX, which is why the portraits look a lot better. I don’t remember if we saw any screenshots of the character select screen back at the Hong Kong showing, but I’d imagine these are the same ones from that event.
@“Leebee Link” -Comparing them both, Robert’s Glove actually has more distressed crack on them in the updated pic. So the render arts do look like they’ve gotten another detail pass. Steps in the right direction!
the only difference is the quality of the picture, there are from the same build so no change at all.
snk keep release tiny pics with bad compress quality.
the only good screencap images are from the press release…
