As someone who thinks she has a stupid and awful design, I must say. I think that there is no one in KoF quite like her and I think that’s more good than bad. And besides no matter how much anybody dislikes her, it’s not gonna make her go away(at least not from KoF XIV) and nobody is gonna drop the game because of her, so if even a small margin of fans like her(and as it appears only people who generally dislike cutesy little girl characters have a problem with her, like myself) it makes sense to make a character to appeal to said fans.

With characters like Platinum Trinity, Lucky Chloe, and Marie Rose, despite them having designs that are out there, they still look like they fit into their games. Sylvie doesn’t look like the same amount of effort was put in to strike that right balance.
Sylvie reminds me of an enemy from Megaman games.
I didn’t notice the qcb+A there, but mix of DOH for it not being clearly better, but WOHOO at shoulder tackle returning, lol. I really hope she has Slashy Kicks back, heh. Didn’t see any Sleeves in the trailer, though… Not like we ever see a complete movelist on chara. reveal.
Yesssss Vice looks awesome, but the hybrid outfit looks kinda goofy <__> crossing fingers for alt costumes/color edit.
New character is on some bullshit, miss me with that nonsense. Not gonna use her at all but it makes me look forward to the story behind the new team. Looks like the whole team is gonna be on the crazy/bizzare side.
Their trailers are getting much better, I’m impressed considering how the first trailer was… keep it up SNK! 
Maybe she’s not supposed to fit in. Maybe she is intentionally supposed to be fucking ridiculous. The point is your complaint is bad and you should feel bad.

Come to think of it SNK generally does a better job of making cute little kid characters that I don’t hate.
While I do despise Bao, Momoko, May Lee, and Yuri. I actually quite like Chris and Xiangfei. I don’t dislike Athena or Kula, but you’d never see me praising ether one. I barely know Honoka, and from what little I’ve seen of her I’ve never put together that she’s supposed to be a cute little girl but it definitely makes sense now that I think about it, even so I’m only indifferent to her. I also never thought of Angel as a cute character, but with the thought in mind, her irritatingly high voice makes sense(as well as some of her more playful and less provocative mannerisms). But in any case I still think she is awesome. And I’ve literally never seen or heard of any of those other characters. Are they from MI or something obscure like that?

Sylvie is suppose to look bad. I doubt the creators thought that it having clown-idol clothing with tons of ribbons and eye balls would come off as beautiful.
She is wacky so it only makes sense that she dresses wacky.
But even a bad design like hers is appreciated, because it’s artsy and ecletic. And people need to remember she’s an idol, and there are idols that dress weird like that (not majority, but still).
I honestly would much rather have her in a weird over the top design which would make her unique then for her to be considered generic for wearing typical fighting attire like a GI.
It’s a mix it looks like. Based on HK footage, he looks to generally have KOFXIII normals but he has a Far B now but it’s different than all the other Far Bs I’ve ever seen him have and it reaches far like Kyo’s. Looks like his f.B may be his f.B from 98/2002. Far D is still KOFXIII’s Far D hence the comparison. Hienshippukyaku is more 98 looking with multihit but doesn’t arc like 98. Looks like he has a command throw instead of a proximity unblockable, so that’s more KOFXIII.
That’s all I remember from watching the footage thus far. So yeah, it’s a solid mix instead of heavy skewing to any particular game.

She is totally based on Kyary, and well, she is a harajuku girl. They are not suposed to fit IN, they are suposed to stand OUT.
The overall graphics went from totally trash, to something kind of outstanding. The characters are sharp, fluid, and the new backgrounds have some nice details.
Some characters like Kyo are still no there tough. Hope they get him fixed to appear like an adult, not like an androgenous teenager.
Ok I have a few questions.
The skin texture on K and kula looks good and no longer has that plastic feel. I think the same is true with king,kula and chang and chin. Kyo no longer has a plastic look either so why is it that we have a lot of characters that have that plastic skin tone.
Also why the fuck does kyo look like a j-pop pretty boy. I mean graphically he looks good but fuck why does he look so yaoi now. In the past he looked like a badass shonen hero from a 80’s manga, now he looks like some j-pop boy band lead singer you would see all over a teenage girl’s room.
The new character looks so out of place and unusual. Snk designs were based off realism and coolness, not fucking j-pop idols. She needs to go she doesn’t have a place in a KOF game whatsoever.

I think i’ll trust there judgement
First of all, if this was a game like SF or MK that would be one thing. But KOF has never had a fixed look where people can say they look like a KOF character.
Second, hairstyle aside Kyo looks no different then from KOF 2000 - KOF XIII, and even prior to that Kyo looked like a pretty boy. So let’s not pretend such a design was so sudden.
Third, again KOF has never had a fixed look. And there have been many characters that had non traditional fighter looks in KOF. Sylvie definitely sticks out, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t fit in KOF.
Fourth, KOF has never been based solely on realism and coolness. Idk what weird world you live in where you have these views about KOF, but I suggest you leave it ASAP so save yourself from the delusion.
Finally, the game has effing 50 characters in it that are all diverse. That is way to many characters in one game to be fixated in hating on 1. Especially when that 1 is made to appeal to a certain audience.
I swear the first world problems amoung some people is ridiculous. You don’t have to like every character, but to hope one gets cut off is downright selfish.

The new character is not to my liking, too weird and goofy for me like the entire blazblue cast, but I guess it’s fine they are also listening to the people who like that kind of stuff.
