[KOF XIII] Kula Diamond

Something I noticed in training mode today: Kula’s c. D can be used to kara cancel (or technically it’s a whiff cancel, I guess) into any of her specials for a little extra range. For example, from starting positions qcb+D hits Iori only once, but if you kara cancel it off c. D it connects with both hits. s. B and s. CD can also be used for kara cancels - from starting positions, qcf+C whiffs normally but a kara cancel from s. CD makes it connect - but the timing is tighter and they don’t go as far. For range, it’s c. D > s. CD > s. B.

It’s arguable how useful this is given that Kula’s moves already have incredibly horizontal range, but I thought I’d just point it out.

Another note on c. D - ordinarily it’s unsafe on block, but due to those same cancel properties, you can cancel it on block to qcf+A to give neutral frames and make it safe to all but guard rolls and CD counters, and some characters can’t even CD counter c. D if it’s used from the very tip of the range (Kula and Maxima can’t counter at max range, but Iori can - it’s character specific).

Hm, I’ll have to look into that then. Though I’ve done it before, I admit that I had no idea how to repeat it (I just wrote it off as a random glitch originally).

Not sure if people ever think about it, but when you’re pressuring a cornered opponent, and they roll away from one of your hop-ins, far s.C blows them up well since it reaches far enough to catch their recovery, and it’s cancelable into a full combo.
