I was wondering who is the “ryu” like character for KOF (if there is even one). Like the staple character that everyone has some knowledge of ?
You mean Shoto? Probably the AOF team (sans Takuma), Kyo, Athena, Yuri, K’, and Mr. Karate.
The most versatile are Kyo, Robert, and Yuri. Maybe Mr. Karate but no one has figured him out yet.
The standard Shoto that hits hardest and would suit someone good at Shoto fundamentals would be Ryo.
*If you mean the ‘standard’ characters that everyone uses and everyone knows how to play and dominate with than that would be EX Kyo and EX Iori.
^I would say moreso fireball Kyo, as well as EX Iori and probably Kula/K’ as holdovers from arcade version.
Think you could make one of those with Daimon please?
Daimon doesn’t really have tick-throws. I think he has a Kara Command Grab and that’s by doing CD and quickly cancelling into Grab, but it’s 1 frame and hard to do.
I thought it was important to show this with Clark because he is the only character in the game with tick-throws.

Alt-Guard is so easy to spot though. I put in the description that if they’re alt-guarding just hit them low and keep the pressure.

So let’s say only 16 people sign up, does that mean if you go 1-2 you are in the money? or you have to go 2-2?
2-2 provided you win both matches in winners. if you win 1 in winners youd have to win 2 in losers. if you win 0 in winners then youd have to win 3 in losers. 3rd round winners or 4th round losers is in the money
You do know you alternate guarding properly will get them to block the lows? You didn’t do anything special and the resets that I got hit with are much beyond the simple ones in the vid. I think they are good for a newbie clark to start off with but true resets with clark have to really shutdown the opponents options. Bala’s resets work because he’s a good player and understands every character in the game, so he know’s when to auto guarded command grab and whatnot. You have to think before you throw that out because it can hurt if you’re not careful.

Well, it’s all about mindgames. There is no specific “Bala resets,” he just gets in your head because his Clark is unpredictable, which obviously makes him the best Clark player. You have to go through the basic principles of fighting games, “what character I am fighting? Does this character have a good wakeup option if I do xxx?” and in sets you can tell by the person if they will wakeup dp or not, but thats when you say “even if he DP, he’s mines” with clark, but then again if he doesn’t DP he can just jump. The real good clark players that I have played know these things and will time their jumps, and get in your head for the resets. Get the momentum going, anticipate, pull the trigger. I know this might not be helping you, but I think once you get the jist of it, you’ll get the hang of it. I’ll try to find some video to help you out.
… Well yeah. I never said I was a Clark Expert or you should tick throw all day with Clark I posted the vid (and I explained it pretty well I think) that these are his tick-throw options. I’m simply showing options that not everyone seems to understand which makes Clark even scarier.

I’m have a little bit of trouble with some inputs, Mr. Karate’s super jump cancel stuff especially.
Also, is Dream Cancel better than SRK for KOFXIII, or should I just stay here?
