KoF XIII General Discussion: Part II

Mine froze skipping the cutscene when the girl says congrats before the boss fights.

I cheesed the boss fights with Goro yesterday but wow the red guy is freaking cheap as hell.

Haven’t played the game yet but is it true that they removed some stages from the game like the jungle stage? It may not have been the best stage, but it would be a shame to take anything away from the game that was already there.

Every 10 uses unlocks a new row of colors for custom edit mode for that character.

Show me the jungle stage and I’ll let you know if it’s in here.

I believe the jungle stage is in the game. The one with the pigmies right?

Yea, that one. I heard they removed it cause it was offensive or something. Here’s a picture:

Cool. Thanks a lot! I’ve been doing the first few trials. Practicing them over and over again. It’s really helpful. I found sometimes that I’m actually trying to do the combo too fast and something will still connect if you slow it down. I was having trouble doing King’s c.lkx2,s.lk,c.HK into whatever. Practice makes perfect.

Still in the game, to the left of random select (default stage is random).

Also, if you pick random stage and select rematch, the stage changes.

Yeah this is a fuckin sick feature, every fighting game should do this.

Practice while you wait is such a nice feature…and I’m glad they put in demos of the missions so I don’t have to have youtube up and running to make sure I’m doing things right. cough Mahvel cough

Before Round 4, no continues
Billy - 20+ Target Actions
Saiki - 35+ Target Actions
Was trying to keep track of the numbers

Extra Colors - New colors every 10 uses of that character

i’m glad they did notations for mission mode and on bars. Unlike Capcom making you either forget a move, have to stop a combo to see the notation for the name of the move, or simply drop a combo because you forgot or didn’t know the next thing scrolling up. That’s the best Capcom can do?

they had it right with Vanilla SF4 but then just fucked it up.

and yea, Demo mode is by far the best thing added in mission mode. Don’t have to skip a mission or struggle through one because I don’t know what the fuck i’m supposed to do.

Nope and that is what is so bothersome about the company nowadays.

Anyway just picked this game up. Game is nice.It isn’t as complicated as I thought it was going to be.

Like I said on Dreamcancel, the presentation for the game is amazing. Especially with how they handled Mission Mode.

Yeah, that too, having the actual notation for the moves across the top of the screen so you can do them from left or right without a wall of text in your way.

Plus the gameplay…man, I love it, every direction I’ve gone on character experimentation has been a joy.

Keep up the good advertising SRK.

KoF is a game i’m always willing to try out new characters if just to see how they play and i’ll like it. Might have something to do with how varied the cast always turns out but it’s something I enjoy.

Oh god yes, Mission mode is done all kinds of right in this game. I never, EVER understood why Capcom doesn’t have a demo play option in their trial/missions. Especially since you can’t freestyle them either.

OH, so that’s how I’m supposed to get Saiki. I was wondering why I kept running into Billy no matter what I did, lol.

LMAO, too awesome.

EDIT:

Man, that is so very true. I can never avoid playing nearly everyone in a KOF game, even if I’m basic as hell with most of the cast lol.

Thank god for Google Chrome.

I’ve been trying to do j.hp > hp for the last 15 minutes.

I’m so used to SF. :frowning:

Speaking of which, does this game have slower inputs compared to SF? My thumb is off the controller before the move even comes out, and I’m using a SIXAXIS.

Does anyone know the name of any good King players I can look up on Youtube?
