IDK why but my guess is that if they’ll add DLC characters they will add these characters : K’ , Mai , Kula , Nameless ( i really think this dude will be added )
other possibilities :
Yuri , King , Ozwald , Billy , Shingo , Vanessa , Yamazaki and/or Angel ( a gal can dream cant she? )
I highly doubt Nameless will be added. I would love to have a XII version team of Yamazaki, Angel and Duo Lon, but dreams fade fast when you realize that it’s highly unlikely that you will see Nameless, Foxy, Angel or Kula again or at least for awhile with how XII feels in terms of gameplay direction.
Let us all just agree that KOF has a lot of fairly popular characters and hopefully we’ll find a way to convince SNKP to load up on DLC for this game and start adding characters to really make this game worthy of the label Dream Match because so far, just having Mature in the game has not made it so. Without story continuation, we need a bigger cast or KOF12 will be the first KOF dream match with a cast smaller than a cannon-KOF.
I am just relieved that they are finally using some new sprites (in 2d!), and that it looks on the level of a Arc game; with it’s own, less-wacky style no less.
I mean, seriously man… it’s about freaking time. They were riding their old sprites for too long. Quality over quantity.
We can look forward to more or different characters in a later version, or KoF13. I don’t mind if they use the sprites from this KoF12. They can use them for awhile, it’s fine by me.
This is the most we could ask for. Mai might be saved up to entice people like the OP to buy the next KoF that has her in it. If there’s anything SC4 taught us, it’s that T&A DOES have an impact on sales. However, 3d does this better for the general VG T&A market. Go play Maximum Impact 2, and you’ll see the best version of Mai lol.
her attack animations, like all 2.5D fighting games, are too stiff and jerky in MI2.
Mai so far looked and animated best in KOFXI (not sure which game those sprites were ripped from.)
it would be total suicide if SNKP doesn’t add Mai at least as DLC for KOFXII.
a KOF without Mai is like a Street Fighter without Chun Li, and we have seen how much Street Fighter has suffered before they finally brought her back in Third Strike, but the damage was already done.
I’m just glad Athena still is and always will be in a KOF. if she was ever absent in a main KOF, that would be an INSANELY bad decision, even worse than nerfing her moves.
Mai’s sprite in KOF XI is ripped from NGBC, and as far as SF3 goes… I can think of 10+ other reasons why it failed besides the lack of Chun-li, and KOF XII lacks Mai… so what? this game lacks King (my favorite female SNK character) and you don’t see me trying to burn down SNK HQ, maybe you guys need a new main or at least go outside, and I fucking swear if Mai came back you’d fanboys would bitch up a storm in one or another anyway :annoy:
