KOF XII comes out on July 28th

I can do that though!!

This is a bad assumption, what makes you think they wont make any money with the current model they going with? Granted selling out and making a crap product in 3D is the commercial way of doing things these days. It doesnt matter when it comes to KOF since its not as big as other fighting games. This game will turn a profit. So yes I do understand where you guys are coming from but I dont really give a shit about that. I dont work for SNK and Im not a share holder. I want a real fighting game thats 2D with a great netcode. Which is exactly what I was talking about, just cause they went this route with the game doesnt mean the game must have a horrible netcode. If you dont have any faith in the game, then simply dont buy it.

I just can’t wait for the game. :]

i had a dream yesterday i was playing it all day…
I cried when i woke up.

Who couldn’t do more with whatever? The fact is that KOF XIII, whenever it may come out, will be significantly cheaper to make. Why should they spend, let’s just throw a random number out there, $15 million to make a big, huge, 35 character KOF, when they could make a $10 million KOFXII and then a $5 million KOFXIII?

None of us wants to see KOFXII bankrupted or put into really bad financial shape by blowing their entire load on one game that will have sold beyond all expectations if it hits 500k units sold.

As for 2D vs. 3D…it probably doesn’t really matter that much. Not to throw Maximum Impact/2006 in, but it’s not like making a game 3D is the flip that can be switched to make a garbage truck of money. In fact, King of Fighters XI is the highest-selling KOF in recent years. Maximum Impact on the PS2 is in second, and KOF 2006 is a distant third.

I thought it was going to get pushed back to March '10, at which point it’d be released as a red label budget title with Tarma from Metal Slug as a console exclusive.

man i really hope that they release the game the 28, i dont want another delay

and where do i make the donations

Really Geese? I didn’t know that, but I guess that’s why your one of the best. I can’t wait to see you tear it up in XII. I liked that you really embraced XI as well. True SNK fan.

Sucks this game won’t be out before Evo to play it in BYOC. Really sucks, hope Evo didn’t somehow come into it’s release plans. Seems too awkward.

theres a clan mode for the ps3 version? does this mean theres a 6 players online mode?

Dude, just stop talking about business. You’re arguing against stuff that was never said from a perspective of “I like this better, so it’s better.” Nobody said the game wouldn’t turn a profit or whatever because it’s . They were talking about the method being used being more expensive and time consuming, especially in an era in which 3D games are dominant. Nobody said anything about the spriting method having anything at all to do with netcode. The netcode concerns are based on the recent releases of Garou and KOF2k2UM having subpar netcode. I mean, if you’re going to try arguing about something, you should at least understand what’s being discussed. You like sprites. We get it. Now pay attention.

This game will turn a profit?

It took them how long to draw and animate each of these characters? Like… 5 years? Not to mention paying coders and etc to make the engine, the limited advertising they’ve had…

And… the game failed in Japan, in the arcade. The cabs showed up, and then slowly started dissapearing because people aren’t playing them. They’d rather play Tekken, SF, BlazBlue, etc.

Like… how many arcades here in the US have it?

And on top of that it’s coming out during one of the most crowded release dates for Fighting Games ever.

Earlier, BlazBlue. Then, KOF12, then a day later MVC2?

People aren’t going to care about how new KOF12 is, they tried (and regardless of their opinion of it) new with BlazBlue and want something familiar. On top of that, who’s going to spend 135$ in one month on 3 fighting games, when one is… not receiving a lot of praise from players and has no promises on it’s netcode?

KOF12 seems like SNKP shooting itself in the foot entirely. I mean, I’ve been wrong before. I hope I’m wrong this time, but KOF12 won’t be a best seller. It won’t sell… I’ll say a third of the copies SFIV did, and it’s not going to suck in any casual fans, and it’s not going to make a comeback in the arcades.

Where’s the profit here after so many years of development?

The truth of the matter is that most (all?) of us do not know anything about SNKP’s finances in regards to KOF XII, nor do we know anything about their sales targets and projections. Even if I had such information, it would have no bearing on my enjoyment of the game. I’ll be waiting in line on July 28 with bells on.

Did you even read what I stated? Doesnt seem like it, so before replying to me understand what Im saying. So please stop telling me to pay attention if you’re not doing the same. Anyways its been stated many times that Garou and KOF98 were outsourced and not done inhouse. While KOF12 is being completely done inhouse.

After the game is released. You have no faith in the series, thats fine. You can play SF4 and not worry about it.

This game will turn a profit with world wide sales.

:wtf:wow you know maybe they are shooting themselves in the foot. mvc2 will do massive sales when it hits. We know it did horrible in jp and has a good chance of doing bad in the U.S. But what about China, Mexico, and other countries think it will sale?

Good post, ill be on line as well July 28th.

For the Japanese? Maybe not.

For the American release, almost definitely.

I don’t think you really know enough to comment on these things.

Random @warp2:

I have info on their sales…

When is this game actually shipping? Gamestop has it listed shipping on the 20th.
