let’s cross fingers for no delays and good netcode
I believe Netcode will be top notch. SNK isnt outsourcing the game and they have put a lot of work and money into this game. Redrawning sprites in 1080p is a long and hard process. There is no way SNK will release a game with poor netcode with KOF12 and let it affect its potential sales. They have poured just too much money into this project.
Online is a luxury, sure it’s common place in most modern games. But it’s still inconsistent even with a good net code. Anyone who is buying this game will most likely be playing it with pals at their place(I know that’s what I’m going to do). Casual or competitive, anyone who takes these games seriously don’t rely on online. Too many variables.
I was fortunate enough to have played this game in the arcade and I feel it’s much better then SF4 and BB.
Not to sell those games short, but this game is awesome, one of the series best.
is the boxer girl not in KOF12 or what?
im not a KOF hardcore player, so i have no name for her.
Whats it like stuck in '98? My bronco’s won the super bowl that year, couldn’t be too bad.
/\ This is probably the closest thing in the thread that I think is right.
GIMMIE MY GAME, SNK + GOOD NETCODE!
The KOFXII fan page on Facebook, which is run by Ignition Entertainment, says that, yes, it is coming out on the 28th.
rofl
Neither Vanessa nor anyone else introduced during the NESTS saga (Kula, K’, take your pick) is in it.
tell that to people who shat all over SC4’s and T5DR’s sorry online.
In this day and age, good (or at least satisfactory) online is a requirement. You also gotta remember, the vast majority of Americans don’t have access to a modern arcade (that’s pretty much the entire Southeast US to boot). Also, the people who take a fighting game seriously, are only about 5-10% of the people who buy the game. There are VASTLY more casuals then serious players, and they’re not going to tournies unless they start doing good online. I know locally, a lot of new players have come from the online ranks.
In fact, for a game like KOF, it’s probably more important, as fewer people play that. I know back in 2003-2004, to learn KOF, I had to go online to kaillera (this was pre-GGPO). That training enabled me to win KOF tournies locally 3-4 years later against comp that had more talent then me. So don’t tell me online doesn’t work.
i wouldve never even started playing kof if it wasnt for online
It’s already been delayed once, it was originally supposed to come out July 7th, I hope they don’t push it back further AGAIN.
Has a game been delayed, even by SNK, two weeks before the release? I just can’t see that happening, especially since it’s probably gone gold already.
My problem is I start seven straight graveyard shifts on the 28th, and I"m sure they’ll be a tourney that Saturday for this to boot, right in the middle of it.
Thankfully that will give me to see if the netcode is satisfactory.

Indeed it is. Too bad the sprites in KoFXII aren’t 1080p.
> There is no way SNK will release a game with poor netcode with KOF12 and let it affect its potential sales. They have poured just too much money into this project.
You would think that, but they already made a decision that would affect its potential sales (and more to the point, its potential profitability) when they decided to make the game a labour-intensive/time-consuming 2D effort.
so what are the sprite drawn? you cant just say im wrong and not back it up. as for your second statement. it lacks logic.
The sprites are drawn at what ever the hell resolution they’re drawn at, then resized 2x to what you see in the game.
SNK make good business decisions? Never heard of it.
they have with the route they have taken kof12.
well if someone was to put a ‘p’ next to it, technically it would be 360p
'Chu mean Vanessa? Nah she’s not in, but don’t rule out DLC.
Bah, I love all the people bashing on it like they were selling us our own deaths. They’re selling us KOF, and a good one at that. I suck at KOF, yet I love the series. And I fully plan to get into KOFXII, cause from what little I’ve played I like it.
And IIRC, Maximum Impact had some solid netcode, so I’m hoping KOF will play online pretty well.
The point is - those who will buy it will buy it. Those who won’t, won’t. They are selling you a good, they aren’t forcing it on you or throwing it in your lap for free. They will put in the work and effort they feel will get them the feedback (and profits) they want, and that’s where our pocketbooks come into play.
King of Delays kickin our butts for one more week.
What is the exact resolution on the sprites any ways?
360p lol, ouch.
To say SNK are ran by a bunch of fighting game nerds is no surprise.
