Combining seeing Mexico in person and Mago in person play KOFXI has helped me tremendously…
i’d change Gato to your leader
whenever i play as him i have him as leader for the guardbreak
I’ve heard a bunch of people say use Ash as my leader.
And a bunch of people use Gato as leader.
So…depending on team pick/order of opponent’s team will decide my leader.
Thus why I want to learn both. Leader and Non-Leader strats/general game play.

I took me months but I have finally accepted the changes made to K’.
After a few early tries I gave up on him in 06, but I started goofing around with him again and I am starting to use him better.
how is shingo in this game?
Strong but not good, if that makes any sense.
He has the most damaging LDM in the game (if you do it at the very maximum distance so that both the rising AND falling parts hit to together–although even *without *hitting both parts it does about 60%)
+Air Shingo Kick is much better than in 2003–faster and stronger. Air Shingo Kick is good for air dashing and baiting anti-airs. Better recovery than in 2003 but still not all that great. Tiger-Knee Air Shingo Kick has great recovery though.
–DP+K is not as godly as in 2003 but still much better than in any other KOF. Far less range than 2003 and does less damage but STILL comboable, unblockable, sets up juggles (just about anything Shingo’s got will connect afterwards).
+/–Sparks after Aragami and Dokugami (QCF+P) seem to happen a lot more than in 2003. That can be good thing or bad thing…
–QCB+P is somewhat nerfed from 2003 (odd that it seems that Playmore seemed to nerf a lot of Shingo’s stuff from 2003–did anyone ever think think SHINGO, of all people, was too strong?). It seems a little faster but has much less range.
–F+B only Super Cancelable now when used by itself (whereas in 2003 you could cancel it into ANYTHING)
–Dokugami (QCF+C) no longer Super Cancelable (like in 2003)
–Kototsuki (HCB+K) no longer Super Cancelable (like in 2003)
–Less easy to hit with both parts of Shingo’s LDM than in 2003 (you have to trigger it at practically the maximum distance)
Other than that, Shingo is mostly the same as every other KOF. There is a bug that he has that no one else does. You can NOT Saving Shift any of Shingo’s air normals because of an odd glitch. No one knows why, and it’s not a terrible advantage but it’s better than nothing I guess.
If you actually want to seriously use Shingo, consider making him a leader unless you’ve got a better character with a great LDM (Gato, Oswald). Shingo being able to use his LDM helps his value to a team go up fairly significantly.
Maybe it’s not a glitch. Maybe they meant it to be that way.
Why did they end up throwing Kizuna Encounter characters in this game? Sheesh, I hated that game.
