KOF: MI2 / KOF 2006 - Strategy / Techniques / Combos

Ohh ok thanks bud.

I just noticed that the youtube combo video posted above revolves entirely around a bug involving Billy Kane(I’ve tested it to great effect, and it’s naaaaasty).

Also, might as well drop one of my new BJenet combos out to spruce up the monotony of the standard F+WK,FLY+FK, QCF+FK(1hit), XX QCFx2+FK ender that’s in every video ever made.

-B.JENET-
J.FK, (WK,WK,D+WK,D+WK), QCB+FP, DF+WK(2 hits, breakfall proof), QCB+FP, QCF+FK(1hit) xx QCFx2+FK – 3 METERS

Also, a little bit of Kula to liven things up(don’t worry, everything posted here is being recorded as I get it working, without breakfall):

-KULA DIAMOND-

(opp standing) J.FK, (FP, B+FP,B+FK), F,D,DF+FP,QCB+FK, HCBx2+FP, DF+WK, QCF(2)+WP – 5 METERS

After the F,D,DF+FP,QCB+FK the opponent should be BEHIND you when you set off the HCBx2+FP super, letting you score the easy DF+WK slide and cancel into the super(also, F+WK can be used as well if you require more height after the super goes off)

Didn’t know if anyone has actually seen these, but seeing as how this [and maybe tekken] is the only game I actaully know enough to talk about I figured I might as well post up.

I’m currently making a guide for this game but holding it off until MIRA comes out so that I don’t have to go back and redo a lot of things. I might be posting it up if I can get some more stuff written down [mostly combos and char. guide info].

Drop: you’ll be my best friend in the whole wide world if you can disclose how to reproduce Ryo’s dash cancel(allowing him to juggle with the F,B,F+WP over and over) as it’s one of the only things I’ve seen online that I haven’t figured out how to replicate yet.

In all honesty, I believe the timing is character based. I’ll test it out tonight but I know that I have to adjust some of my combos, mostly the ones requiring wall bounce, denpending on certain characters.

For example:
Kim: 66D,D,[mid air]236236D [wall bounce, after landing] 236236D, 214D xx 21416D

For that combo against soiree, you can just have him one throw length away from the wall. BUt then I tried it out on Duke and it didn’t work the same. After landing, I was to far away to preform his 236236D.

But from what I can tell after looking at Brae’s combo, it should be no easier than 646A,6646A,6646A etc. But like I said, I’ll check it out tonight.

This shit still aint working.

B = Light kick
C = Hard punch

Is that right? Because this shit still ain’t working. Is there strict timing?

Only thing I can suggest is mashing back+C during the throw so you get the juggle ender fo rit. Just check the movelist, the exact command for it is in there just in case I’m mistaken. 99% sure though, I just mash on C til he does it, then juggle with the super.

edit: wait…

After going back and trying it again I noticed that for Ryo to loop his 646A he takes a small step foreward first. What I believe it to be is 646[hold]A 46[hold]A or something along that lines.

Tale a look at Brae’s video again. If you notice his Ryo takes a step foreward right before doing the move. This can either be from holding 6 down and then going into it or as I stated earlier doing a dash (6646) before the attack. In any event I’ll try to continue on, but I personally am never going to play Ryo after this XD.

edit2: Okay so I do believe that holding 6 down is the right way to go. You have to take a small step first and then do 46A, then repeat the process. Just practice it a bit and you’ll definently find out what I mean.

You don’t have to press back+C, it’s down+C for the bounce then do the super.

Drop: I’ve figured it out! It has nothing to do with holding forward AFTER the move is finished, as the step Ryo takes is the LAST directional input before the next F,B,F+WP.

IE: The first to inputs are put in right as the uppercut is about to strike, and the last input is what moves him into range. I’ve gotten 4 in a row already and am working on getting it locked down consistently.

Remember! The step he takes between specials is the LAST directional input, NOT the first.

–UPDATE–
To land this correctly and consistently, the first input of the command(F,B,F+WP) should be done EXACTLY when Ryo strikes the opponent with the uppercut at the end of the previous F,B,F+WP. If you get a smooth pattern of movement going on you’ll be doing this is no time at all!

Ah, so that’s why I stepped back sometimes but when I did 66 before the last hit he stepped foreward. Hmm never noticed that. Anyways both of the ways I’ve tried I have gotten to 4 times as well, and I’m stopping there until I reach him in my guide. Like I said, I don’t/won’t be playing Ryo XD. Well if your ever in the DC area hit me up, I’d love to go a few matches with you.

cool, I was wonderin how u do that move multiple times, thanks for finding it out.

Found out some more Luise stuff, maybe some stuff that might make her near Richard Myer tier, lol, well maybe not that high but at least the top-upper tiers, if she’s not already there

Her Minuet of Damnation DM can be buffered in from rolls and sidesteps, trying to find some more ways how to land this super, will definately add them on here when I find out

For those who might be interested.

Try using some of her stylish moves that cancel to buffer it, it forces the opponent to react faster than they want to. [media=youtube]c9TMvOpydQE&mode=related&search=[/media].

@agx: yeah that helps a lot.

Nice to see those Ninon combos. Thx

Yeah I know about those, like C, C and D, D, and F+D into the Minuet of Damnation, or maybe u can try a reset if ur fast enough, like F+C, U/F+B, B, D Air Dash, B, which will reset then buffer the move in before u land. I’m not sure if this will work but I will experiment with it

I finally got the game and it is a nice fun fighter. I played with Terry and Leona so far and try Ryo tomorrow. So far I had no problems in the few AI fights and also the stylish moves and stuff are not as hard to remember as I thought at first sight. Terry has a lot of moves in this game, but overall I got the feeling some don’t get much use. Any Terry experience in here to guide me to some good stuff, like what is safe and some nice combos? Or is it better to focus on Ryo or Leona?

Anyway, I know, that Ryo as Mr.Karate is in the game. Is he in his NGBC self or the FFWA one moveset wise? Furthermore is this outfit in the game.

  1. You play who you want to play.
  2. I could give you some stuff, but you’re pretty much gonna play this game like any other fighter. Use hit-confirm like hell.
  3. Leona be mine! Nah jk, but if you look to start with her I can definently help you out there. Not much with Ryo though.
  4. Don’t know enough about NGBC to answer that.
  5. WTFH there was a 3d FF?!?!?!

edit: did you get MI2/2006 or MIRA (the one that just came out)?

Got the normal KOF MI2 I think, no special edition or similier signs on the cover.

Well, I play who I want, it’s just about the main char focus. The less time I have for a game the more I try to get one char in deep and others I like aside. Would be a shame to focus on Terry and he would have like 80% bad match ups and always working hard like hellin some friendly bouts … Hope you get my point.

Some Leona infos would be nice, as would be Terry and Ryo. So if you can go ahead with some Leona stuff I would definetly like it.

Ah k, someone else might explain then or I just have to wait until I unlock him somehow.

Fatal Fury Wild Ambition was 3D indeed, still got the PSX copy of the game. lol But it wasn’t that hot (still playable but nothing like a FF3 or Garou:MOTW), through they made a great Ryo design for this very game.

off topic, sort of.

Mignon vs. Mignon mirror match money match at evo world. 3 out of 5. 3 rounds OR your rules.

Oh, yeah. I added rushdown to Louise all with one button: LK/light kick/B

crouching LK and air dashing LK are what’s up.
