I played a pretty good Maxima, and he is pretty good. Pretty hard to read, and his several autoguards made it REALLY hard to catch him. Anyone help me out with some Anti-Maxima strats? Never played a Maxima player b-4 today, now I know why some one posted him as a top tier earlyer in this forum!

I go to Diversions most weekends, but I doubt I’ll go next weekend. If I go it’ll be Saturday.

The guy you played was he a tall & big(as in chubby) mexican dude…
if it was you have to watch out for his cross up jump A.

Do pokes and small jumps. Theres only 1 GOOD maxima player in SA that ive played and pokes work… Well so did tizoc.

Heh, I might learn Hianko, but she’s NEVER taking the place of Leona. I have too much history with Leona to give her up that easily…:wink:

I might be there on Friday and Saturday. That Mexican guy that my disciple and I played said that he would be there on Friday as well, so who knows what might play out. Until then, it’s Athena LDM combos and some more Mai for myself.

I bought that Arcadia KOF 2003 strats book. That book is too good,plus the DVD comes with it was worth the money alone:eek: A lot to learn. :stuck_out_tongue: How many of you have this book? and what did you think of it?

Cant find one in San Antonio. Its like trying to get a 3rd strike S.guide(impossible). Unless you ordered it online which i hate doing. If so what site and how much…

ninja mai try be there friday and also k9999. And mukia if your from SA come there friday as well. I got some new maxima and a pratical gato unblockable combo. Comp is not the same!!

man i was doing that LDM of athena and woooo fast reaction time. Even to a low blocked or missed sweep(if done fast) can connect.

Spin the best way to connect Athena’s LDM is with d.C it has amazing range. speed, and priority!

yeah,sure do: it took 24 days to get the book and the DVD is region 2. I just play it on my comp since my DVD player wont play that region. Plus the book is in Japanese. Still very imformative and useful:D

EDIT: Spin, I think that the Flame Sword would be the most reasonable one to finish with. It does do good damage, and you can do a strong Psycho Sword to do a bit more off of the lifebar.

I’ll try to stop by friday, but I doubt I’ll make it, wanna spend time with my Girl. Maybe I’ll bring her, but probably not. Yah, been playing whip and I find out she is a force this year, all of her lags have been removed, or lessened, and with the change of her weak super is a plus. She still deals MASSIVE damage, and has the potential to be a major poker, or a very aggresive.

What can you combo into whips DM… The only combo i can think of (which sucks) is j.d-d for 2 hits, s.B,c.B then the her DM. And why is it you have to do a s.B then a c.B or vice versa for it 2 be 2 hits. You cant do c.B twice for it to count as a combo. Shes not a person i want to master anymore:bluu:

I’ve been playing Hinako, and she is really good! She’s really strong and is able to turn the match around in 1 combo. Her decent LDM combo does about %80 easily!! Not to mention she has good autoguard, supers, stregnth, and decent comboibility.

j.D>d.D> df.A> LDM>QCB B is her basic LDM combo.

I thought just her LDM can hit people who jump in but also the 1 with the head butt and also the throw. But the throwDM you have to time just right because she is invincible for 5 frames. But shes not worth the play unless you pick her as your leader.

I kinda made a conscious choice to stick with Mai as my leader. Leona’s V-slasher is starting to return to me now, so that should be fun.

Also, I think I might start practicing with Benimaru as another fallback leader. He, Malin, and Leona are my new practice team along with Mai (Leader), Benimaru, and Goro Daimon. Don’t ask why I’m deciding to learn Daimon, but I just am… :cool:
