I see. That’s kinda tough being that the characters that you’re most familiar with aren’t the same, and looking for a new character to use could take a lot of time and practice to learn. I got lucky because my main hasn’t changed much and I like using Yun/Yang for fun. Don’t think I can main either of the twins.
Even though cammy was considered cheap, she had to work for the opportunity to be cheap, yun just gets free in’s. Yang on the otherhand takes a bit of work and is a somewhat complicated character, as complicated as divekick chars can get

First tourney can be scary though, that is understandable. I bet also that since it was your first time coming out last night, that is the reason why you didn’t play at your best…first times can be intimidating and make you play like shit. Nice to see someone remembers my name lol. I think I played decently Wednesday night, though I’m having to really learn new characters and matchups again because Abel and Blanka aren’t the greatest anymore. I was there last Wednesday as well though and played against Gary a lot. I think it’s more that I’m not used to thinking a ton since I’ve just played online a lot before this lol… also my links aren’t so tight because online is slightly more lenient. People online are usually really bad or really good, so finding people around my level doesn’t happen often.
The tournament is just going to be a more expensive version of Wednesday nights since I won’t be winning anything, but it should be good fun. I played in a tourny at PAX East a while back, but I wasn’t very good at the game back then lol. Got matched up againsta Blanka first round that was a little better than I, and I had no idea how to deal with it.
My GT/PSN is the same as my username here though. Anyone can feel free to add me here. I’ll probably be coming most Wednesday at least this summer.
As a fellow blanka player, I feel your pain. Blanka has never been considered top tier, he’s a character from another era stuffed into a new fighting engine where FADC’able combos allow for 350+ damage off a shoryuken. Whereas blanka still thinks he is in SF2. But he definitely has the tools to suprise people, as well as stellar defense. His 6-4 matchups against common tournament characters mean that if you want to do very well in tournaments you need an alt, especially in AE. Or you can do what i do and just play him to annoy Rob.

Hey everyone, here is a spreadsheet I quickly put together for who is bringin what tomorrow and what game it will be allocated for. Please take a look and let me know if anyone can add anything, or cannot bring what I have indicated. It is public accessible and anyone can edit, so feel free to do so.
Surprise is how I play lol. I’m generally good at being very random with him, perhaps because I don’t actually know real combos with him. He’ll be my alt in the tournament for sure, because I can usually play a solid and patient defensive game against grapplers with him. Originally I started playin him just to annoy people online too, so while he won’t be quite as annoying now, I might still do it anyway lol.
if you want to play top tier blanka you need to play cvs2…its why he shouldnt be top tier imo
I watched the tournament on the stream and it was great. I should’ve came to this. I admit it was pretty good and the people ran it was awesome too. Good job by Waterloo. I’m humbled.
