I don’t play Chang but can’t he neutralized projectiles with that spinning move he has? And what about that move when he thrusts out the wrecking ball?
Mash P ball swing can neutralise projectiles and has very little recovery time if you cancel with ABCD. df+A slide can go underneath high fireballs like Athena/Robert and hit on the other side. Charge b~f+P can also neutralise fireballs while Chang is leaning back, although you will take chip damage for doing this. qcf, hcb+P (S)DM has enough invincibility to blow through fast moving fireballs but not slow ones. Jumping over them with j.CD or j.C should make it pretty hard for them to anti-air you, and if you manage to counterhit with j.CD you can follow up with something else to bring the pain. Unfortunately he doesn’t have d,d+K ground stomp like in 2k2 to discourage people from throwing fireballs in the first place, but he has plenty of options to get around them you just need to figure out when the best time to use them is.
Yep, just mash P and remember to ABCD cancel as soon as you don’t need it. The slide is a great tool for moving forward too. It’s probably trickier for ground fireballs like Iori’s or alt. Kyo’s, though.
And yes, when in doubt, jump/hop C+D.
