yes but they can guess you to mash but instead you’re AGing then you kill off
remember that we’re talking about few frames or seconds
imho is preferable to stay with pokes against an AG user
no, you didn’t get,
AG have a range of fraction of seconds to work
for a wide example if AG require you to switch from down, back, down stance in 1 second
you can calibrate your dance to be in initial crouching position at time 0, to be at half second in standing position then again crouching once a full second has gone then repeat and have the AG to work
this can be applyed to vice’s crBs with a similar example
sigh Whateve,r you don’t get it. You’re telling me all the ways in which you can counter something if I did, while refusing to see that you’re just playing a guessing game. Yes, if I decide to do another crouch B and you mash, you’ll hit me. Yes, if I decide to throw after I’ve done many dash crouch B’s and you alternate guard, you will win. But you’re ignoring the fact that you’re guessing every time. You’re the one that is actually in a worse situation if you continuously AG granted I’m not continuously trying to throw.
There’s an obvious reason why alternating guard is hardly ever used in any high level gameplay, even though at first glance it would seem to be broken. It’s only effective against people who have not encountered it yet and wonder “wtf is going on with my throws?”, without realizing the cause. Otherwise it’s not really effective.
From all the matches I’ve seen from Japan and other countries, I see one attempt at alternating guard every like, 500 matches. It’s really THAT rare to see. If you alternate guard against me once, you will probably trick me, but if you keep doing it, you’ll be spending too much time trying to evade throws while eating sweeps and crouch B’s.
But I do. I see it all the time. In fact, just doing something like a jump attack into throw (for example, with Goro) is a tactic that could be beaten by AG. In almost every match, I see good usage of pokes, followed by a quick run up throw, this could technically also have been countered by AG. But, AG is still never used.
Maybe the Italian gameplay is far higher level than Japanese or Chinese (highly unlikely), but tick throws are used very often in kof98. They are used with command throws in 2k2 as well, but their usefulness is pretty much zero when it comes to normal throws because you can techhit all normals throws with CD in that game.
The only untechhable normal throw that I know of, and I’m not even sure on this one- is Ryo’s C throw. It is much easier to tech in 2k2 then 98 though, so a lot of those throws are very hard to tech, but not impossible.
My entire comment was about 2k2. You don’t really have concrete evidence that suggests they are untechable, but me and Arstal tested just now and confirmed all of them are techable.
Edit: Ryo C throw is techable. Generally it is very easy to tech throws, because you never have to guess which button to press. I think online in 2k2, my tech-hit rate against people who throw is like, 99%.
I’m referring to throws in KOF’98, not KOF2K2. Let’s make that clear. So with regards to that, my comment was asking for something a little more substantial than an assumption. Are you saying that all normal throws in KOF’98 can be escaped?
All mashable trows in 98 can only be mashed for reduced hits, but not teched.
So Joe, Choi, Heavy D, Rugal, Billy, Chin who don’t have command throws still have a very valid option for throwing.
jump attack into throw…i think that unless you’re playing kof2003 this is easily avoided
just condider factors:
goro jumps at you and give you blockstun then he have to wait at least 1 second before attempt any throw…btw once you guard his jumpin you start to dance high and low
then goro what can do?beside keeping pressure with pokes?
sweep -> slow and easily avoided
crB -> goro’s is crap
fwdA -> crap slow and easily avoidable
backjump for a quick overhead -> possible but even if you take this you suffer less damage and mixup guessing than not doing AG
i have several jap matches and i don’t see any tick throw unless the tick part is landed on opponent and for obvious reasons AG won’t work
but again unless your mindgame is VERY solid and your opponent is scrubby everyone can easily avoid a -jumpin wait throw- with anything
this bait to my nerves is really sad man and obviously won’t work…especially because i’ve already told that my analysis is on matchvids and not italian level…
Acctauly I dont much play games anymore, let alone online shrug. Plus id just get destoryed anyway, I only reallyed played kof years and years ago. I have no idea the last time I even played. I dare say it was when I played kono 5 years or so ago and I have no idea when I even played before that lol. So yea id just be a training dummy lol shrug.
Maybe if I ever make it to ohio again and 98 or 99 is somewhere ill play for a bit. shrug
Just curious- is Ohio some sort of SNK hotbed or something? A lot of fairly tougher people online in various games seem to come from there. Is Akron some hidden KOF fortress of solitude?
