SNK better release KOFXIII for consoles for the holidays, especially since there is no new fighters coming up for the fall and winter. That way the arcades can earn the money they spent on the kit and earn more.
If they decide to release it in the spring, they are going to shoot themselves because they will competing with more popular mainstream fighters like MvC3 and Mortal Kombat!
Good point, MVC3 is coming out in April and MK is looking legit.

Why is no one attacking Kyo after the first kick in QCF+K, K on block?
One of SNK’s tech vids clearly showed that there is an opening between the two kicks during which you can special or super.

the D version of qcfK is very safe. Normals and specials couldn’t beat it, he recovers the same time the opponent does, maybe a frame or two later. Maybe EX moves or command grabs can do something about it, but other than that nothing I’ve seen so far.
I think Diavle meant punishing the move in between kicks which should be possible.
K’s EX Chain Drive can do it.

Kyo looks retardedly good… he has probably the strongest non-meter low string… his jump d.C overhead hits extremely fast… he crossed up Maxima on wake up… and that was literally a 50/50 cross-up mix-up… his jump seems pretty low… and he can do d.C almost instantly after jumping and combo from it… i don’t see THAT big of a problem reacting to it as a high/low mix-up… but high/low + almost instant cross-up? KYO is going to be DISGUSTING…

What I like is the Kyo player. AA DP DC into corner juggle combo into SC Aerial Orochinagi. Damn. That’s something that didn’t cross my mind. I am liking the madness that comes from the meter system.
Not only did it do a large amount of damage, it was utterly stylish too!
Probably too early to ask this but what the hell: Who are some good counters to Kyo and Liz? I don’t mean to play Theory Fighter but I’d be willing to bet that K’, Raiden, and Maxima could be good counters. K’ because he can combo off of anything really, great priority, and his flame and flame kick are pretty safe and should stop Liz from jumping in. Raiden and Maxima because of their auto-guard, and they both have jumping grabs. Because it seems like Liz players rely on jumping in, getting a launch, then following it up with a DM.

Yeah what xxkimixx said. In the match vids you see a lot of ppl burn meter by CD countering that move. Might as well use an EX move or super instead. The move gets whored a lot but this should make them think twice about using it.

This right here. The system will truly shine when people get a hang of this since combos will start coming from various previously not so special situations, not just your usual ground combos and punishes.

Why do I need to play any other genre?
I’m wondering if anything else besides K’s EX super can beat out the Kyo qcf + B/D, B/D kick special. Maybe EX dp with K’. I’ll have to test that out next time I get a chance to do practice mode.
Need to go back and rewatch all the tech. reference now the game’s out. As for beating a blocked Kyo qcf+K (you don’t have to press the second kick since XII), I’m guessing any fast move (mainly EXs) like Maxima’s Ex Blitz Canon (DP+BD) and Ex Vapor Canon (qcb+AC) due to his autoguard. Sadly, I think he’ll get hit out of his Ex Maxima Press (hcb+BD) coz of the startup frames. Shen could probably do his EX Shen Woo Punch (qcfx2+AC). I bet a lot of moves can now that I think of it.
ELISABETH HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAX CANCEL IN THE GAME!!! I saw that before on the technical reference videos but it didn’t really sink in until now!!! THAT COMBO WAS STRAIGHT BEAUTIFUL!!!
