Hope they update the visval so it will be more brutal.
What worries me is it’s damage, I saw his NeoMax used as AA (clean hit, no trade no counter) and only did like 15-20% damage, that’s way too low for 3 bars & 100% HD bar. Hope they tune the damage.

Except for the fact they’ve held their own little mini-tournaments, I’ve seen nothing to lead me to believe damage is universally set yet. At all. EX DMs doing less damage than normal combos, Normal Combos doing equal to Neomaxs hit outside of combos… and the pathetic non-damage of K’ EX Chain drive, and the fact that his neomax was reported to do 70% damage so far… seems very haphazard.
I give it another 2-3 years before KOF14. KOF13 was pushed out quickly to recoup the losses they had with 12. I’d like to see XI’s tag system for the next installment personally.

From description, think Nameless HDSM but does 70% of damage.
Apparently it’s a big ass pillar of fire (like Nameless’s HDSM in KOF02UM, as DarKaoZ said) followed by a Chain Drive beatdown.
Basically, it sounds to me like K’s version of the Mu Shiki.

Anywho, For Leona… that doesn’t looks like V Slasher?!? WOOT, more DM confirmed? Makes me quite happy. The rest I haven’t looked over yet. YAY LEONA! I really wanted her to have a super she didn’t have to leave the ground with, and if they’ve given her that, I’m quite happy.

K’ in that neomax pic did look like he was having one of those “I’m loosing it!” moments like K9999… this I can deal with. I personally love Crimson Star Load, but I’m quite happy if he gets something new.
On Kasumi being 2nd most used in 2002UM tourney… that’s pretty cool. I remember someone on Gamefaqs posted something about most requested characters from japanese players, and Kasumi was pretty high on the list. All the GFaqs guys couldn’t believe how many popular characters she beat out, so it’s nice to see something else that proves she has some popularity (whether by design or just by ability/power/“cheapness”.)
YEEEEAH!!! Remember when we had a discussion about this? It was basically PMing on the thread, haha, and we REALLY wanted her to get something new! Perhaps with the black background and whatnot this is her NeoMax and now Rebel Spark is just a normal DM!? (I REALLY HOPE SO! And the EX version BETTER have her going ape shit with red hair!)
If by “they” you mean SNK, then they never said that. The report you’re referencing was just “I have this Japanese friend who is really close to the gaming industry and here’s what the KOF producer told him.” At this point, it’s just a rumor. A plausible one, but still double-hearsay.

Aye, good to see those wishes coming true, eh? :woot: I suspect the black screen here might be because it’s just EXDM’d. But the fact we’ve seen red hair for an EX V Slasher, yet normal hair here, and normal hair for her Neomax… I would assume if they keep the REBELLION SPARK (that’s what I’m calling the Neomax before I know otherwise!), that she’ll probably get Orochi-style to pull it off, too.
You’ll notice in the pic of the new super, she’s done 6 hits, and there is a shadow of herself fading out on the other side of the opponent. I wonder if it’s a single hit after a ground combo, or if she dashes back and forward (Or moves so fast it’s nearly teleporting) through the opponent multiple time? Either way… it’s NEW! Awesome!
It’s gonna be hard figuring out what dude to add to my KoF XII-born “2 blue hair’d chicks and a dude” team… :razzy: so many who look worthwhile…

well it was quite obvious… if you look at most of the japanese 2k2um tourney they just use K/Kasumi/Nameless… that s why i was happy when, during the arcadiacup, the taiwanese player beat the crap out of the JP with Foxy xD

oh thanks, great Foxy! hmmm, Based on Kula’s Neomax pic, it looks the same, but I think there are some added ice effects on the far right. Maybe it freezes the screen like a glass window, then shatters? or maybe encases the opponent in ice like her ice grab? hard to say.
