It sounds like he’ll be an extra 9th character and a sort of palette swap of regular Jago. Some people think he’s based off the Spirit version of his character in KI2.
Spirit Moves:
KI2’s answer to the “last breath” from the first KI. By performing your
Spirit Move anytime during the fight, 1/8 of your meter will be taken and
stored so you will automatically come back to life after being defeated (you
cannot come back after being killed or defeated with an Ultra) as a ghost!
When you are a ghost, you are given around 1/8 of a meter of health back,
your attacks do monster damage, and you return with a full Super Meter!

There’s a lot of Xbox One/Killer Instinct paranoia videos/articles out there.
That Blackbuster guy who was busting Capcom’s balls for a while on his videos has now pretty much made a dedicated anti xbox one news segment and threw a Killer Instinct segment in there also. He tries to come off as saving the consumer, but to me it just seems more like he’s just trying to be a cheap ass and jumps at anything that has an offbeat payment system.
Just have to be above that and show people that what they are doing will be worth it in the long haul. The game will have to advertise itself basically unless Microsoft is preparing some before November big ad campaign for the game.

To be fair, the initial install base of the Xbox One is something that will hurt all launch titles trying to build their multiplayer base. If you buy an Xbox One and you want a Fighting Game, there literally is no other game to turn to, and I’m sure, with the fact that Killer Instinct is probably already in early stages of focusing on Season 2 as well as finishing off Season 1, they will be able to build the base with each new concurrent season, as long as the updates are there and welcoming to new players. I’m sure that they will not keep this system in the long run and change it. If anything they should do a one-character rotation thing every few weeks or a month, so that maybe the first month you get Jago free, then after that, another character will be free. Just some random ideas, but I don’t think they are stupid. If the model fails, it will change. However, having a FREE game after buying a 500$ game console on launch day is something very few people will go away, however keeping them interested depends on how long it will take them to pump out content and how fun the game is…but if people like it for free, I don’t see why they wont dish out 20$ for it, over maybe a 60$ game.
@axlegitxlegend They already rumored at doing what you were saying. Which is basically holding people over by letting them beta test the other characters to try them before they are officially released in the season. Which means the freeloading Jagos can get extra free characters once in a while to play around with and entice them more into a purchase.
The closest it seems to getting to actually being free is if you buy Xbox Live. It sounds like you’ll essentially be getting the game for free if you do that. Anyone who literally doesn’t buy anything just gets the modes and Jago for free, not the rest of the cast obviously.
Plus having the game generally be fun for people to play and watch others play is probably the biggest part. Hopefully it all pans out since being the only next gen fighting game for a while gives it a unique shine in the FGC spotlight.

What I like about digital games…I don’t have to worry about a store running out…no need to preorder. My Xbox One and PS4 are both preordered on Amazon. I refuse to buy discs. I hope when GTAV is released on Xbox, that it will have a digital release as well (I know PS3 does). What I’m hoping is that Microsoft will let me buy digital Xbox One games before the system launches so when I log into my Xbox Live account when I setup the system, it starts auto downloading for me. That would be boss.
I want to do the least amount of work when I get my Xbox One to play Killer Instinct.
I don’t believe in pre-ordering things.
It helps that I live in a small town.
