Any ideas on when a new patch may be released?
If Amazon were to make their own console, they’d have to come up with something crazily exquisite to bother competing with the stronger market. At this point, many people seem to be fearing for KI’ s future. But it does not seem to matter, because we have seen proven that underestimating these people just causes more space for shock.
Unless they actually bodge things up and TJ Combo becomes a transvestite.
They said the patch is being worked on currently. No mention of when, but you’ll know when.

Why is it that KI continues to get fucked over behind the scenes.
Now amazon owns KI…WTF man.
They own Double Helix, not KI. Microsoft/Rare own KI and Double Helix will still be around til the end of season 1. The only question is who new will be helping Adam Isgreen, Buktooth, Dan and the others with the game. Rumors floating around that Rich, Mike W, Dave V and others on the DH team will be staying with DH and move to Amazon, but nothing is confirmed yet.
So we are getting our invite/party fixes early march.

Jesus, ranked just gets fixed back to a playable state and people on the DH forums are already bitching about loosing to high ranked people. Thats such a scrub mentality, whining that you loose to people better than you is just bitchy. Earn your ranks or just play exhibition matches n stfu lol.
Well, like said before even exhibition has a quite a share of ragequitters. Which as sad enough on it’s own…
I hope season 1 will be concluded with an solid online system so we have no troubles during the DH into whoever transition.
It would be a damn shame if a game with such a great netcode would be plagued by other online issues.

Early on the experience distribution was screwed up, and that would piss people off. But they fixed that, losing to a lvl40 just doesn’t hurt that much, take your licks and move on.
Rage quitting in exhibitions is sad, but them online warriors show no remorse with their lack of tact. I havent gotten raged on in exhibitions yet, but ill laugh when I do.
I ran into someone using the Spinal Game crash to RQ.
I played him twice, I was winning but it was fairly close, he teleported and crashed the game. The third time I got matched with him he won… immediately teabagged and quit to menu…
Seriously, what’s the point of playing exhibition if you don’t want to run a set at all.

I’m really interested in who the new dev is. NRS? Lab Zero? Iron Galaxy?
And I have to soapbox for a bit regarding the knee-jerk “NO GUEST CHARACTERS” that I saw on the stream yesterday.
Look, KI’s lore is fucking crap, ok? It’s HORRIBLE. It’s a mish-mash of movie things from the 80s and 90s. It makes Street Fighter’s story look good in comparison.
And the character roster may as well already BE guest characters. You’ve got a PredaTerminator, a T1000 Alien, T. Hawk, Balroggo Creed, Jean Claude Van Ninja, Conan the Barbarian, Xena the Warrior Princess, Chun Li, the Wolfman, a raptor from Jurassic Park, and a skeleton from Jason and the Argonauts, a two-headed centaur/cyclops also from that film, and a gargoyle.
Do you see the theme? The theme is AWESOMELY APE OTHER STUFF. If they decided to put in a John Preston the Grammaton Cleric, Wong Fei Hung, The Arbiter, and Simon Belmont, and every single one would fit in perfectly with the cast.

There’s a difference between parodies if other characters and guest characters. For example, it could work to have a space marine of some kind… But master chief would be wonk.
In addition, guest characters force bad design as they must be true to their source material. A parody character isn’t tied down by existing lore.
Though, costumes that pay tribute to other games could be cool.
But you are right, KI lore is a joke.

I can see Iron Galaxy be the new dev actually. As long as it isn’t NRS, their games always seem b-grade to me with their clunky animations (not to mention they’re owned by WB)
I like NRS games, but they aren’t the right fit for KI.
I’m hoping a new 1st party studio. Given the recent NPD numbers, I hope m$ gets more aggressive with its exclusives, a first party KI would do that, and remove doubts about another buy out.
Ya, there is no possible way it would be Netherrealm. WB would be throwing away money letting them work on KI over an MK10.
Though it would be interesting to see them make a game outside of their comfort zone, since MS would probably be a lot stricter then WB.
