I’m happy with saying that baggyness was the wrong term, but nostalgia glasses aren’t the reason why I don’t like his current spray-on pants. 
He was always pretty effeminate. Just not as effeminate. You guys honestly can’t see the difference between his KI2013 retro pants, and this?
Look at the thighs and knees - there is clearly more “wiggle room” in there. :lol: There is shadowing on the cuts in his pants. You know when you get shadowing? When there are noticeable layers. Skin-tight, like the new retro design, doesn’t have noticeable layering.
Also contributing to it is that his legs look more feminine in general now. Admittedly, that could be a by-product of the new art direction (and fancy new graphics system) - everything is less blocky overall.
His new, smaller bra doesn’t help him to look any more masculine either.
(Also, “new generation” was hilarious.)
They’re all pretty tight fittting. Maybe old Jago was a bit looser on the bottom of his pants, but it wasn’t very visible from the game itself back then. The old outfits are obviously a bit influenced with DH’s art design to fit in line with the artstyle of the game.
I would say the more standout difference is the cuts in his pants are way larger than they were in the old games.
I would agree that there are larger cuts (for whatever reason) than the previous Jago…but it still looks the same.
Yeah I think the larger cuts are what really look different. You see more skin than the original for sure. And they do look more like those emo pants in the pic above than the original pants look like those emo pants.
When did this patch go live? I didn’t notice a download last night when I was playing, and I had my Xbox1 on from like 8pm until midnight, but it was idle for 80% of that time because I was watching the football game.
I did notice I was having a hell of a time last night finding games online though, and when I did some times it would drop in the lobby. But once I got into a game it seemed to be fine.
The x1 will download patches on its own without alerting you (sometimes), and will even do so when on standby (after “Xbox turn off”).
Well I don’t use kinect and do a hard shutdown everytime I turn it off (I have that set in the settings). But yeah it is hard to know when it does download stuff. The prior KI patch though it told me I had to download it before I could play the game.
I definitely didn’t see any noticeable graphical difference though so I’m guessing I didn’t have the patched version.
Well as far as jago’s classic outfit is concerned…it never looked this gay before. This is benimaru level gay except less manly.
Orchids classic look should have been the KI2 look but I guess DH would rather shave skimpy outfits for men which proves my theory that DH has closet queers on the design team.
I agree but its because his character model was kinda short n bulky before, in any case i think its dope. Im glad they are doing the classic costumes and we haven’t even seen his accessories yet.

This is a good rendition on his classic look. Looks manly and like he doesn’t like taking it up the ass.
^ It does look really good especially the hair and boots, but what makes him look not Feminine looking is he’s bulky as shit. DH didn’t model him this way to fit the clothes in their Jago resign for this game. Not much can be done about it… This is good work though.
I think it’s a mixture of nostalgia as well as updated graphics. When game graphics get so good and detailed, it makes the old outfits questionable. It applies to any game. For Tekken 2 and Tekken 3, Paul’s hairstyle was ok. But nowis just getting weirder to look at it over time.
It doesn’t matter how big the cuts are now on Jago’s pants, it’s still a man wearing a skin-tight, cut-off tank top full midriff showing and spandex pants with holes. Re-read that description again, if you need to:

There was no way it was gonna look good unless DH magically re-ported his entire old KI sprite into the game to keep the old nostalgia glasses in check.

I think the problem is that jago’s new model is very skinny and he has a girls built now compared to the muscle bound body builder thing he had in the past. I also think DH didn’t do a good job on the outfit and didn’t fit it appropriately…seems like he is wearing 4 sizes below what he can actually wear.
This is a very non-gay version of his classic outfit.
The fact that you need an artist to come up with a “non-gay” version kinda proves the point.
A lot of this stuff you are posting is so heavily stylized it could be an interpretation of either outfit.
I don’t really see much difference between the build of old or new Jago. New Jago looks more beefy to me and his muscles are of course more defined than they would have been in 94/96.
But yeah its definitely not gay that we’ve been talking about guy pants for a whole page.
I think the only issue with the classic jago costume is the fact they gave him forearm length fairy gloves. They should have kept it forearm pad with the black gloves or something that is different colors. The full gloves makes it seem like he’s wearing old granny gloves and going to a ball.
I will say that even this is incredibly nick picky as he basically looks JUST LIKE KI classic.
