My guess is anything like that would ad a frame or two input delay at the least, just by the nature of the device.
Also, random game engine note i discovered. The super flash actually takes a frame in this game. In most games the super flash doesn’t actually occur on a frame, so you have a move like 5+0 with five frames before the flash and zero after. In KI, that same move would be 4+1+0, with one frame occurring on the flash. While this doesn’t affect the speed of the move, it does mean that in that situation the opponent only has four frames to make an input, rather than five, which makes the 0 frame uppercuts, and Thunders command grab slightly better than they would otherwise be.
According to their site, there’s not. But who knows? I ordered one anyway just in case my TE2 doesn’t show up this week. I’ve been holding off playing it at all until I get a stick, and it’s killing me.
I figure worst case I can use it as a backup plan if I ever have any stick probs or want to play 2 player local with someone who didn’t bring a stick.
The first link I posted has like a 6 minute video of the guy playing Killer Instinct with a variety of different controllers. It also says the FW isn’t out yet but will be out shortly, and it looks like the 10th of this money from the dates in that post as well. No clue if it works with PS4 though.
they were 360 sticks with xbox one controllers in them… you can only use xbox one pcbs on the new system. Gummo was modding people’s sticks the whole weekend.
Yeah I actually know someone on IRC who knows the guy who wrote those drivers in the link I posted. He has been working on it the past 2 weeks since the console came out. I was trying to chat with him on IRC last night but he wasn’t around. But my other buddy on IRC is good friends with him and he was going to specifically ask him about if there was any input delay or anything like that with this product. I’ll let you know what I hear when I get back from work today and can talk to him.
But definitely let us know how it works out for you onyx.
Ill have it tomorrow so ill let you guys know tomorrow night. Hopfully if there is lag its less than 5 frames, i can handle that. I just wanna use my 6 button pads for this game, using the triggers for fighting games is just undesirable.
There is a video of this adapter on the PS3 and Xbox360 that is on Youtube, and it had an everage of 1.5ms of input lag. That really is nothing at all, and I’d be surprised if even native controllers did not have some small kind of input lag such as that.
nah i meant 5 frames, 5 frames out of frames out of 60 frames per sec is fine for me, more than that begins to become a problem. Keep in mind ive been playing fighters almost exclusively online for the past 8 years or so, 5 frames aint shit.
@deviljin01
After your experience at NEC did your opinion of how the game (or Glacius) is or should played change?
I think the game is fine as is for now. People are still doing shitty combos that get combo broken easily. Which is why J.Wong pretty much did KI1 style combos all tourney to win. 5 hits, end, do wake up games. As people get better with that and incorporate counter breakers more you’ll see less Vanilla SFxT style matches that were pretty rampant during top 8.
Glacius is fine for now. Wouldn’t mind a backdash or meter based teleport, but he can basically cover the entire screen area and still arguably has better anti pressure options than most zoners.
Talked to Chris G on Facebook and he said he’s buying the system and the game soon.
