I just hope we don’t have the lag and visual issues that cause most FG tournament to be played on training stages.

With the use of their GGPO-style net code, hopefully we can worry more about countering combos than lag. We’ll soon see, once the true stress test of launch day is here!

They’re infused with that MikeZ indie game power. Thinking about EVERYTHING. No corporate style adding what’s run of the mill and neglecting what could really add to fighting games.

It’s still very well possible to stylize it. Chronophantasma’s training stage melds the grid motif into an actual environment instead of a endless void, and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Fair enough.

Though they had to redo it because the old BB training stage was an abomination.

Visually I actually like most training stages, SFxT and MK9 are my favorites, I even like SF4’s.
I suppose it does suck that the games run shit and forces players to use the stages exclusively.

I’m all for stylized training stages like MK9’s. I get that people don’t like foreground objects and floating leaves getting in the way and such, and that’s perfectly fine. Maybe I’m weird, but I can’t think for the life of me a time when I was playing a 2D fighter and thought that something got in my way, but I know even a pixel getting covered can annoy some people, let alone any performance issues due to art. However, I love the art, and as long as the stages don’t have objects that get in the way, or design a stage so that it hinders performance, I think we can all get along in a world with art.
