Haha I know right. I really want to make it but I’m 99% sure I can’t… I’m probably the only one who understands the game well enough so far thanks to the last Convention we had it at, even if it was on pad. Plus there’s going to be the usual Marvel tournament and other games which I really want to get to since the prizes are going to be sick.
Plus the finals are gonna be played on a 400" screen (which from the last convention didn’t actually feel laggy at all strangely enough. The 42" TVs in the room next door were terribly laggy though).
I’m pretty sure it’s an assumption. They all but stated that at least one character will be teased, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they waited until just about launch day to reveal the final character. The thinking would be that people would be talking about it and, if it’s a much-wanted character like Fulgore or Cinder, would cause many on the fence to want to pay up right then and there.
The power of brand-new hype is akin to window shopping and seeing something on sale that you might want. It could pull in more people than we may believe! However, if they do reveal both characters in the video, there would be some cheering AND crying, because someone’s favorite will be left out for season one. It’s another reason why they may keep one character “mysterious” until launch.
How many people would prefer Cinder over Fulgore (if the 7th character is Spinal)? I’d say less than 1 out of 10.
I personally would much rather have Fulgore over both Spinal AND Cinder. It’s only because he was one of my mains in part 1 and 2, and I was never really good with either Cinder or Spinal.

Oh, I certainly agree with that! Fulgore has been the face of KI since it came out! Some people will still prefer “their” character over Fulgore, but for most, Fulgore is the one character they’re hoping to see. Does this mean that DH will give us Cinder instead, and hope we’ll be happy until Fulgore heads up their season 2 line-up? Or would leaving him off the roster cause a mutiny?
Regardless of when Fulgore comes, I’ll be happy just having KI back. But there will certainly be many who just can’t see it being “Killer Instinct” without Fulgore. We’ll see!

Well, you are certainly in the minority.
They actually removed Cinder from KI 2 because very few people played with him in the first KI
I’m trying to figure out, if they add Fulgore and Spinal to Season 1, what is there to really get excited for with Season 2? Cinder, Riptor, Tusk, Kim Wu, and Maya were easily the least liked characters of the series, and new characters are cool, but not really as exciting as remakes of fan favorites.
But then again, they might be trying to get as large a following as possible with Season 1, to help with X1 sales and whatnot. 1
Yeah, I’m thinking you’re on the right track with them wanting to build an audience first. Remember, they need funding to launch a season 2. I think they’re on the right track to achieving that, but adding Fulgore wouldn’t hurt!
It’ll be interesting to see…on one hand, I’d LOVE to play Fulgore now, as would so many of us. But on the other hand, I could see them saving him for season 2 just to generate even more interest then, relying on old favorites like Orchid to pave the way now. shrugs
The problem I see with not including a staple of the franchise like Fulgore is that the game might die out very quickly and it might not even see a season two.
It would certainly be a gamble.
If everyone deemed the game was boring/sucks AND it didn’t have Fulgore, maybe. Fulgore isn’t going to stop a fun and great game from having a season 2. Orchid and Jago can keep that torch lit till Fulgore will be announced for 2 and people are rushing to be beta testers for him.
It will be pretty funny if they show Orchid, Spinal, then a brand new character and throw us all a huge curveball.
The goal should be to give people what they want most… and then give them more of what they want most.
Holding back on the most desired character untill season two doesn’t sound like a good marketing strategy to me.
From a business standpoint, it’s most likely they won’t throw any curveballs and throw Fulgore in next to Spinal to round out the Season 1. He is a staple character of the series and although Cinder is also considered to be by many, the fact that Cinder didn’t even appear in KI2 means that people could probably live a bit more with him not being in Season 1.
Either decision, people are going to complain and at that point it’s up to the game to prove it’s worth of making people wait for Cinder or Fulgore.
If Cinder isn’t in season 1 i’ll die a little inside…but it’ll give me a chance to play other characters while i wait at least because i know if Cinder were in i’d never play anyone else xD
I think you just saw the silver lining, ultimaotaku! I think the best play would be for Fulgore to come out now, and then have Cinder champion season 2 with the likes of Combo, Riptor, and then some cool new characters. We’ll already have a great grasp on the game systems, and a very good understanding of the available characters, so we’ll be salivating with anticipation of tearing into some new blood. As DevilJin stated, people will be chomping at the bit just to beta the new reveals!
We’ll see what they do, but I think this would make the most sense. It won’t be THAT long of a wait, ultimaotaku…at any rate, you’ll get to play all the other characters, which will make you so much better as you burn into them with Cinder, yes? 
Saving characters people want for Round 2 can be a great way to garner long lasting interest if done well.
knowing their weaknesses first hand will certainly help in beating them in the future >:D
