Not to sound negative, but I’m assuming the guide is only going to cover the characters available at launch, not worth it imo, not to mention Prima did a terrible job with the MK9’s, they had to send cards displaying the move lists to people as an apology for messing up.

Well that’s not entirely true. I’m mostly just getting it for collection purposes, BUT it’s only the paper strategy guide that will be stuck with the 6 characters. Buying the guide will also give you access to the mobile (hopefully also accessible on PC) “living guide” that will be updated regularly by Prima.

Not a huge deal for me either way since the dojo will most likely be updated also as new characters and tactics become regular. Plus stuff posted on youtube and message forums.

LOL you know, you just made some very good points, and I just cancelled my preorder on Amazon. Thanks for reminding me how bad the MK9 guide was I totally forgot. I even got the hardcover one of that as well. It was a pile of shit. I also didn’t really think about the whole season thing, and how few characters will be in it. If I want it, I can always buy it after the fact.

I was just all caught up in the KI hype.

I’d like to hear who at least is writing up the guide. If it’s like Buktooth, MikeZ and Filthie then that’d be great. If it’s just random guy at Prima getting info from the devs, then yeah that’ll probably suck. I really liked the Marvel 3 guides especially since it was tournament players writing the guide. Don’t see myself buying the Pin version so this would be the next best physical thing to buy.

I see guides as more of a collectible item these days, considering you’ll get way better info on youtube and forums.

Oh, and orchid looks more like Kate Beckinsale from Underworld.

Killer instinct holds a special place in my heart thanks to playing the SNES version everyday after school with a group friends

i know its the common consensus the Fulgore will probably be the 8th character, but i really hope its Cinder he’s my fav from the original KI

The consensus going around actually is that the 8th character will most likely be Cinder. The radioactive character icon people fill fits into Cinder’s storyline. Which means Fulgore will most likely hype up Season 2.

Maximilian is pretty convinced otherwise and it would make sense. Fulgore never really had anything to do with radioactivity if that’s what it symbolizes.

@onyx, I agree. If they could do all of that ice and shape shifting with Glacius, I can only imagine what they can do with a man on fire. Alien Sub Zero vs. Mutated Man Scorpion in the first season will be great. The classic hot vs. cold battle.

Their whole premise so far has been to take characters with simplistic designs and basically 180 that. The characters have a lot more details and attachments to their wear than most other fighting game characters even. I don’t expect him to be wearing a translucent suit and have some alien skeleton like Glacius, but they will definitely either make him a little bit different from just a man on fire or just make him the flashiest man on fire ever.

Same will happen to Spinal, he will most likely have more clothing and generally look like more than just a skeleton.

I think we’ll do a boss job with Spinal. I’m thinking, he’ll be dripping water (for some reason) with some pirate gear on, but not too much. Random gold rings, bracelets, tooth, etc… Just total badass. I actually don’t want him to have his morph just because I want him to have his own style instead of using another characters moveset.
