Killer Instinct XB1: Season 2 hits October 15th. 20 dollars for Combo, 40 dollars for Ultra

They reduced Sadira’s jump height (as I suspected they would).

I’m likely getting a chance to play it tomorrow and most of this weekend at an Expo over here (Digital Nationz) and was wondering if there were any kind of guides around?

I don’t need exact combos, I can experiment with those once I understand how linkers and autodoubles and stuff work and what the inputs for all the basic moves (combo breaker, shadow moves, ultra, etc) are.

The last KI I played was KIG on N64 for many years when I was younger. Though I had no concept of competitive fighting games at that time, just played with full meter and made dumb combos lol

Edit:
Looks like I found a really good guide

It’s all very streamlined outside of doing heavy linkers which involves holding the light attack or medium attack button down during the linker. Get some footage if you can.

Thinking of Sadira’s gameplay and how she generally likes to be in the air, It seems like once people start really using her efficiently it may be hard for other characters to deal damage. As of now no one has a really strong AA option and even if they do it seems easy to whiff or trade and for minimal damage… I guess what im afraid of is 50% of the time when you hit Sadria on a punish she’ll be in the air, juggle damage isn’t so great in this even with meter. Without the serious AA threat, why should she ever stay on the ground especially with all those great air tools. If you don’t stay on her and keep her blocking or grounded its gonna be hard to deal good damage to her… I dunno, maybe im over thinking it, we’ll see how it play out this Friday when decent people get their hand on her.

I had that same question about her playstyle.

As a counterpoint she also spends most of the match vulnerable. When she gets anti-aired you can mix her up afterwards and because of her lack of defenseive options she has to respect that mixup. So getting hit out of one of her jumping things might be more damaging than initially appears

She’s very flat now.

She went from a Christina hendrick body to a Emma Watson body which is unfortunate.

What’s the recovery on a whiffed Bluff (Counter Breaker attempt)? Does anyone know that yet?

Specifically, no.

But it is most definitely punishable.

I feel like it’ll be like fighting against El Fuerte or Viper where you learn where the punishes and gaps are the more you fight them. They already nerfed her jump height as it doesn’t look like she’s near super jump height after every other web zip. Being in the air that long in a game where you can’t air block is eventually going to show its liabilities. It’s not like Marvel where characters can fly cancel or air block occasionally during the movement.

I heard it was 27 frames.

Oh, okay.

I was asking mostly to find out if someone would have enough time to realize they were bluffed and turn it around into a combo during that interval before their opponent can recover from their failed Counter Breaker or if you need to anticipate the bluff to actually have the timing to turn around on your opponent.

At 27 frames it’s the same as Glacius’ Shatter (maybe a little longer) so if you can dodge that on reaction you should be able to capitalize on a bluff in the same window.

I don’t think Sabrewulf has more fur. Unless my eyes deceive he looks like he did at SDCC. Could be the environment lighting showing his fur off better.

Great video by Max showing off Sadira, I totally see myself playing her. I dig how she looks and moves!
Though I’ve never played an aerial-attack based character very effectively.
At first glance with Max’s video her double jumps look solid with the ability to vary heights for cross ups and baiting out counters - I can see how she can really lay the pressure on and be scary to fight against.
Can’t wait for part 2…and more info on Orchid, haha.

You know, it’s pretty much entirely aesthetic but something that crossed my mind (while I was trying to fall asleep): if you go through a match really well (that is not take much damage), you won’t be able to build the Instinct Meter necessary to finish off with a huge Ultra Combo when really you should have earned the right to finish strong (since you proved yourself so dominant). Instinct Meter is built on the side of damage and doing Combo Breakers, both of which require you to be hit at least once.

It’s a minor niggle but something that bugs me about how you have to extend your Ultra Combos and get the most epic finishes would require that you at least take enough damage to max your Instinct Meter (be it straight damage or getting lots of Combo Breakers).

I dunno if Sadira is really good or if they are just cockriding her to xnfinity.

End game Glacius is going to be GDLK.

She’s strong now but that can change in a day since everyone’s still being tweaked.

Are we watching the same video? BTW KI1 Orchid is very different from KI2 Orchid…

KI3 Orchid still has a bigger butt than a majority of the girls in fighting games I’ve seen. It actually rounds out and is noticeable when she stands sideways which is more than most fighting game girls. Her boobs are big enough. Otherwise you’re just being a big tit warrior.

Some of the flashiest combos I’ve seen were done with just one ultra or even no ultra. If you don’t use instinct mode you can do double shadow move finishes that are pretty cool.

@54 minutes in Rich swags out hard with Thunder without doing an ultra.

Keep in mind its been what… 17 years since these characters have existed. Given that and how strangely proportioned/stylised the originals were… I wouldn’t expect a straight reprint of any of the characters.

The only thing that was wierd about Orchid to me was her skin color lightened up… But it does match Jago.

Sadira’s dick is probably bigger than mine :wasted:

Well I wouldn’t expect the same character model obviously but at least the level of thickness.

I don’t like this skinny gym girl look…orchid needs dat fat ass, big tits and hips.

I’ve seen skinny girls at the gym, and this Orchid is still considerably thicker than them. Emma Watson isn’t the skinniest girl in the world and actually has a little bit of a body, and she is nowhere near as thick as Orchid is in this game. There’s just no comparison there.
