I doubt it’s has to do with the look. The gametrailers has the dev mention the suit gives him lighter weight which is why he has a floaty jump. There must be plot relevance to it.
Those combos are incredible. I’ve never seen that kind of stuff before really, let alone in a KI title. I like the new look. He looks less MARVEL 90’s ICEMAN and more of an alien of some kind, which he is supposed to be.
His new stage is boss, too. I liked his previous model from the trailer a bit more, but this new take will def grow on me.

Glacius stage looks AMAZING!
I notice Glacius fireball is different, he summons it from above his head and it floats really slow…
Glacius can also summons spikes from the ground? Looks like the same animation as his old FB… But then he can also stomp the ground to summon spikes… Can’t wait to figure out how that works!
Spotted Icepick, not sure if a command normal or a special move…
In general the Shadow Move effect looks a lot better!
Also noticed the changed the “ultra” indicator “danger”. Makes sense.
The big question: Can his fullscreen combos be broken?!
Puddle Punch – now can be used as a reversal
Cold Shoulder – lets you close the distance and get up close
Icepick – seems to have reduced range, maybe the HP version has a bigger spike?
Hail – His new fireball, replaces the bouncey ball. Summons a fireball over his head. Range/angle determined by button strength. Can be used as an anti-air.
Shatter – Summons ice clone from the ground. Lets you start combos from anywhere. Unblockable move! Cannot hit you if you are in pre-jump or blockstun. So basically has throw properties.
Icelance – horizontal version of Icepick, seems to serve the same purpose as Shatter…
BTW I noticed for his P ranged double he does the same ground punch animation as his old KI1 fireball. NICE!
Also I noticed they changed the CH effect from those chunks of yellow stuff to a flash of yellow lightning. Thats cool I guess? Didn’t bother me before lol.
As awesome as the counter breaker is in concept, they cant make that shit free. I watched that vid a few times and Glacius didnt loose any health super bar or instinct meter when he performed the counters. If left unchecked that will break this whole game day one, make combo beakers useless againsts players super human reactions like 60% of the marvel players. This mechanic cant be free…
Agreed. It has to cost half-meter, or Instinct Meter so it can be controlled. But still, the idea of Counter Breakers brings a whole new layer of Techincal ability to this game. Now when you go for that huge combo leading to the Ultra, you can bait out a Combo Breaker and Counter it to clench the win.
Still so terribly saddened at the fact it is xb1 exclusive. Was my favorite back in the day and constantly counted the days it would be made again. Maybe, just maybe, it will fail so bad that they will sell the name back to Rare to be re-done properly.
