I posted stuffs like that also a while ago. You can also do st.hk, walk forward, cr.lk, target combo lp elbow u1 on some people.
Yeah a lot of people didn’t stick to it, I guess but now that I made a list of who it works on, etc. Maybe people will use it more, I know on some character you won’t need to walk and do cr lk as Cl st HK TC lp hozanto alone will give you use the same outcome and less damage scaling, but man I just wish Guy’s ultra was 10 frames.

ugh Gief… just stay out of SPD range as much as possible… the range is LP is such bullshit… its just outside of Guys st hp range I think.
Yeah but Id love you to make a thread on this match up…I am never sure what safe jumps to take against him. It looks like as though all my jump ins get stuffed by the lariat…I really hate gief, such a bullshit character…so much life, never gets stunned…it makes me sad everytime I have to fight one
Once I finish the Rose Match up thread I will start on Zangief. I actually enjoy that match because I like to see what gief players resort to when they are down on life.
I dunno what’s there to like about this match-up. No combos or jump ins - just pokes. If the Gief is smart and patient enough, Guy has nothing on him.
You can knock him down, and it don’t mean jack.
Once Gief has bar… Safejumps are just not even worth it anymore… EX SPD just destroys it, I think if you do safe jump j.HP might beat Lariat? idk, I wish it would more like A3 where certain normals would just beat his lariat clean, he either beats your or gets trade which is normally in his favour.
I’ll have Kreymore do that matchup I barely get any airtime with Gief or Rose.
A bit off topic but it looks like Densetsu no Otaku has been playing again recently. I’ve heard that he stopped playing but when i checked http://kyosuke.kun.free.fr/Ranking/index.php?fighter=guy earlier today i found that he has 87% winrate. I am pretty sure that he had over 90% winrate when i first learned about the site 2 weeks ago. Anyways, I hope to see him in 2012,the video on youtube was sick.

It think its good to know how all the characters work, specially how to punish what when you main Guy. Maybe this actually goes for any other character but…
Finally, I have been willing to get all the trophies in my game…but I have never seen a room for a team battle or for a tournament…how is it in the US? Are there people playing team battles and tournaments?
When I played Super, there were a few going around but in AE I have no idea, but i haven’t really played online… >> anyone got a product key for PC they can give me?
hey guys its my first post i believe in the guy thread as i am a guy player myself, just wondering while i was looking at the new changes video one part said about guys kara throw and throw range… is it extended or anything? i know he already has a kara throw but its not the best, im just wondering if they have improved it… thanks for the info of the new updates… and if there is anything i can contribute let me know and ill do my best to help!
in v2012 it will now be the length of ryu’s grab range which is .90, guy’s is currently .8 which is a big step up. He’ll have better tick throw set ups and kara throw set ups that opponents will have to look out for, original Guy would have to kara throw after 2 point blank cr lk/lps or point blank TC against most of the cast. That may change.
Latelly I have had many good fights that I saved.
But I don’t wanna upload them until I get a capture card. Hopefully I’ll get one this Sunday.
Then I think I’ll try to add some videos to the tutorial thread and try to help the character specific treads with safe jump setups videos

I’ll be uploading my fights as well on a regular basis, and I would really appreciate it if some of you guys could criticize my gameplay.

I think everyone is just waiting for v2012,. Guy is at least getting something which will partially make him a more competent character and well and since a lot of characters are getting some new tech and old things back, we’ll have to revise quite a lot.
I lurk daily.
But really, what is there to post, plus my stick is busted so I can’t play either. Probably gonna get a new stick and capture card soonish, so vids a plenty (probably mostly combo videos as execution is my strong point)
Gratz man! I agree that learning about how other characters work is a really good idea since matchups knowledge is so crucial when playing Guy,cant really get away doing unsafe stuffs all the time
