 Dude thanks for good laugh, I heard it prolongs life

as someone who goes to the arcades

what’s the point of getting good with a pad, keyboard, dance pad whatever

if nothing is gonna comeout when you try to impress people in the outside world

Yeah, when he was using T.Hawk you notice he keeps screwing up the grab… I use a keyboard, and the only problem I have with it, and everyone else is 360 grabs, say otherwise, and you’re a liar. You cannot do a 360 on command every time. If anything, this video proved it. Doing a 360 on a keyboard takes too much time to do, and it’s not worth trying because it will either a) screw up, or b) you will get countered because it takes too long to do a 360 on a keyboard.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, he was playing against a standing dummy.

If you can’t do a 360 on on command every time on a keyboard you just haven’t practiced it enough or you aren’t dextrous enough. It’s that simple.

If you play a wrestler such as Hugo, or Zangief, why you even want to attempt to use them using a keyboard, which takes extra extra work? A new player can do Zangief’s 360 grab on the first attempt using a stick, it would take fifty tries for them to do a 360 grab on a keyboard. Hell, it would take pro players time to even attempt one on a keyboard.

Pads are okay to some extent since console tourneys won’t be going anywhere.

Don’t dig yourself a hole. He did a standing 360 with T. Hawk in ST.

I can, even as reversals in Alpha 2 using Birdie. I do them flawlessly. You don’t even have to do the full motion on a keyboard. When I do it it just looks like a half circle followed by up.

I’ll admit that I can’t do standing 720s though, without buffering it off of something anyway.

EDIT: I’m only mentioning reversals in Alpha 2 because it’s the only time I remember doing it. Not that reversals in Alpha are super hard or some other special case.

Some guys just dont believe that God decided to create human fingers developing muscle memory and dexterity on ANY device

Thanks for posting my video :wgrin:

I’m not a T.Hawk or Zangief player, I only did the motions to prove it was possible on keyboard. If I was inclined to learn these characters I would bet after alot of practice I could pull them off with ease.

Exactly!

I’ve stopped playing ST now, whenever I do play SF I play HDR or SFIV using a Hori stick. Even though I’ve spent years playing the game on keyboard, arcade stick is still superior (despite the decreased accuracy), e.g you cannot do overlapping charges on keyboard.

Roogle great custom unit, I thought it was wrong but you must be left handed!

What I would love to see is someone create a stick using a touch pad or the roller ball from those specialist mice (see attached image)

coincidence makes it that Alpha2 has some of the hardest reversals in the SF series

Really? I kept track of my execution when I started using stick… The first day I had 15% on Zangiefs 360 facing right and 5% facing left. The second day most other moves improved solidly but 360 fluctated to 5% facing right and 25% facing left.

But then again, I never play the grapplers.

Please play my V-gief in A3 then, kthxbye

Uh-oh, practicing an attack in a fighting game? That’s ludicrous! Who would waste time to perfect a move that a character is reliant on? That concept seems really far-fetched for me.

Actually, that’s a RIGHT-handed setup. only a fool would have their slower, less accurate hand as their movement keys.

I’m right handed and I think it looks weird. I always use arrows with left and numpad for buttons if I use the keyboard.

Because it’s like that with every controller: Stick with the left, aswd with the left, pad d-pad with the left…
Left is the movement hand. Right is the button hand. Anything else just feels weird to me and completely backwards… Just thinking about it makes me confused.

Well then you use a left-handed setup. Congratulations, you’re a southpaw.

But everyone(which is mostly righties) use left for movement all the time, on all other types of controls. So it’s natural. That’s my point.

Why aren’t there any pads with the d-pad on the right?
Why doesn’t more people have there joysticks on the right? I mean they could with custom sticks if they wanted too or if it was somehow better.
