You guys run into him online? Could definitely use some help with this match-up. I think maybe learning Ryu will help me play him more balanced. It definitely seems like you can’t mess up in this match because of
You could won round one by combining that HK tatsu into dp, and he started jumping like crazy after

This Damdai dude is pretty godlike. He doesn’t go to tournaments?
Can’t help you much I am much lower but even at my level I do feel Ryu is a pain in the ass.
I think it’s because we have a kind of crap neutral game and this is the only place where he might be on the weak side too but it’s still better than ours. (I am talking relative to the matchups where Ryu has a bit more trouble)
He was a really good Super Turbo player. So he knows how to play SF games.
Yeah, he’s nice…If I run into him again I’m just going to go hard for the corner and throw the crap out of him. I’m not playing his footsie game in neutral, Ryu’s normals beats us! lol
Good job Omnicloud!
Despite a few missed anti-airs and hit confirms that this Ryu capitalized on you did good being aggressive and opening him up a few times.
He was nothing special, all he did was corner hug majority of the time, EVERYONE is good with alot of space, it gives you time to react, but his up close game was weak.
Tks my brother much appreciated. I really felt like I didn’t play at all like myself, I wasn’t playing super scary or giving him too much respect, but I wanted the win too bad and didn’t get creative enough. Next time, I’m gonna throw the crap out of him and if I can get one empty jump, put that man in corner and wreck shop! lol
Nice set. Getting some good mileage out of VT Hado, HK Tatsu I see.

A First to five I did with a friend.
Things I need to work on:
1:STOP SRK ON WAKEUP
2: Learn to block confirm target combo into EX fireball
3:STOP SRK ON BLOCK
3: More aggression during high stun
4: Stop full screen EX Fireballs
Did I miss anything?

I have been really watching my play, trying very hard to improve constantly. I am aware of obvious mistakes etc but would still appreciate any feedback/criticism given as well. Thanks in advance.
I also have trouble in basically all the female MUs. Maybe someone can help me understand how to play those better.
I’m awful at this game so just stating that 1st. I watched your Cammy fight and def work on the punishes more. There was a couple times you coulda nailed her pretty good. With Cammy when I fight her I’m always crouched and blocking and I try to punish as much when I block her Spiral Arrow and Canon Spike…How’d you get your fights on YouTube? If def love feed back with my stuff because I def wanna get better
Just link your psn account to your YouTube then record & upload
Hey guys, I wouldn’t mind a critique on my matches from a weekly yesterday :} spoiler alert: i choked pretty hard -__-

Thought you played pretty good overall. I liked how you did hk.tatsu after a trigger-cancel (on a CC st.hk, IIRC); corner-carry and all the hits instead of a “too-far” hp.srk.
Bit of slop on both sides but no doubt you guys were under pressure.
One thing that stood out to me was your corner-combo while in Trigger: I’m just as guilty of this, and in a tourney muscle-memory prevails, but after your “unmoving shimmy” in the corner, you defaulted to hk.tatsu every time. It didn’t cost you against the Vega, but it certainly did against the Karin; you tagged her in the right corner (in the India stage, I think) but didn’t do lp.srk -> hp.srk. She lived on like 50 health and turned it around.
I notice Eita and Momochi, while in Trigger, doing TC -> run -> lp.srk -> hp.srk (the timing of which you taught me, no less, thanks again!) whenever they’re even NEAR a corner; this removes the ambiguity (am I close enough to combo? And I think you have enough time to switch to EX.srk anyway) and keeps them disciplined so they don’t default to hk.tatsu. It can be scary to drop it in a tourney, but I’ve been trying to grind it out myself and I think it can only be a good thing.
Otherwise, I would’ve thrown a lot more fireballs at the Vega, and to a lesser extent, the Karin. Recall Vega has one shitty anti-fireball move that is punishable on block with st.hk if close enough. Karin has a lot more anti-fb stuff, but she’s not going to be tossing them out in the mid-range, going more for the pokes; and it’s the mid-range you want to be throwing these out, as it’s here they’re going to be poking aggressively with normals that outrange yours (except for your fireball). Might just be an E.Ryu habit, but fireballs are a shoto’s answer to superior pokes. Obviously don’t throw them inside low forward range.

I’ll give you a small tip that would help you get atleast twice as good in an instant. The problem here is you’re playing an incomplete game. What I mean is, it’s quite clear that you want to concentrate on your ground game and fundamentals but you’re only seeing it half way through. You have gotten good at standing outside of your opponents poke range, but you aren’t whiff punishing any of the normals he’s throwing out. At 1.20 for example, he was whiffing a stmk right Infront of your face and you didn’t do anything. Between your block string or In a ground game, when you know you’ve spaced yourself to stand outside of your opponents poke range, just throw a crmp or a sthp, it’ll either whiff punish or scare the opponent into not pressing any buttons. Remember that whiff punishing is more prediction and pushing buttons from the right distance than raw reactions.
