I remember I had a double take when I got AAed by EX tatsu when I jumped a far fireball. Not sure how legit that is, though?

I am trying to find out any high level footage of him but i can’t find out any dedicated main

First off - no. People can complain all they want. Regardless of beta form or not this character was X when it was publicly available, so people are going to discuss X and not a theoretical full release Y.

Secondly - sweet that he can zone and play the fireball game well, that’s what I ended up doing with him just playing the classic shoto fireball/uppercut game, M.DP is a powerhouse in the anti-air department for sure. Thing is if I wanted that I would play Ryu, Ken has been promoted as a rushdown heavy mix-up esque shoto, and he ain’t got that in beta 3 form. I want him to shine where he should, not somewhere Ryu or Sagat should be excelling otherwise I would be playing those characters, not Ken. As said, feels like he’s in design purgatory.

Might be decent, Ill check it out in the beta. Some moves might not be invincible, but have great hit boxes and good start up. An example is Gouken’s lk tatsu in 4 is good anti air in some matches or T.Hakws lp dp. You usually just have to do them quick enough for the to be active like using a normal anti air.

I think people just said what’s the point when alot of what he could do was gone so some Said screw it not worth relearning him lol.

@R-D tested in training vs Ryu early j.hk, it was pretty consistent at beating it and trading rarely, you can do that shit really far also.

Maybe it’s me, but I am sure HK Tatsu AA too. It’s definitely something I want to test out when the game is released.

Anyone know the frame data on Ken’s HK tatsu with VT on and off. I know VT Tatsu is plus on block by a good amount. I think if the last hit is lower on the body the normal one might by 0 or plus. Also this is beta 2 Ken, I don’t know if the properties changed for Beta 3, but frame data if only listed as he is whiffing.

i was in a lab and found a full corner carry from one to another with V-Trigger and 1 Bar (372 Damage 611 Stun)

Neutral Jump Fierce -> cr. HP -> Hadouken -> V-Trigger -> st. HP -> V-Run -> Light Tatsu -> Ex Tatsu

so if anyone wiffs a Command Grab and you are cornered he will be, i love you ken

Id rather go for damage than a full corner carry if Im using EX. You can j.fp, c.fp, VT, c.fp xx lk tatsu, mp dp, ex dp for one bar and like 460+ damage.

Nah lp and mp into ex still works. They just made it much harder to do.

I think you’re right for that setup technically. Strong DP does not work into another EX DP (found it almost worthless outside safer confirmation to Super on juggle Crush Counter (No V-Trigger)… which is 2nd most optimal punish with Super if opponent does DP [most being Jab DP, but hard to time])

(V-Trigger) Low Fierce xx Short Tatsu, Jab DP, EX DP does not work… however if you substitute Low Fierce with Away Strong - St.Fierce TC… then it does work. The only issue with this is that it does less damage than if you were to end it with EX Tatsu via Low Fierce starter.

I was looking for Ken player replays and I recall seeing your name. Do you have any other replays? I’m sure others would appreciate it

Mainly the replay uploads are coming from other people. Someone pointed out LevelUp had a stream of SFV in General Discussions… and sure enough my match with Valle was streamed, and I think it’s the only Ken match I can find involving my account. From re-watching the archive, I still don’t understand why the match I ā€œnormallyā€ played felt teleport-like, but when I watched the archive, it didn’t look bad at all.

I should of got punished hard at round 1 for the drop in V-Trigger… realistically the proper follow-up should of been Away Strong - St.Fierce TC but I ended up doing Low Fierce (could unreliably work on CH, otherwise Low Fierce follow-up only works after fireball or Heavy specific normals).

There was another match I played with him afterward at some point, but it only lasts for a few seconds since it disconnected rather quickly.

Otherwise, I don’t really upload match videos (over-concerned with potential biasness of what could be uploaded).

Chun was never bad. In fact outside Bison in Beta 1 she was still really good with her massive kara-throw range she had there.

Chun requires knowing a bit more then just do this combo and in general it is harder to play neutral on day 1 then it is after a couple days with the game. Chun has never been below upper-mid tier potential. If you thought that you were simply mistaken.

In beta 1 her TK legs was like +5 on block and could link a medium afterwards. She basically had a divekick and a 1/3rd screen kara-throw. It is laughable to think she was bad in Beta 1, Bison just had a block infinite the only way out of was to DP which was really dumb.

she’s barely been changed, if anything Chun has received more nerfs than positive changes and they were literally just to address some broken ass things she had lmao. No idea why people thought she was weak, only character I’ve really seen ā€œimproveā€ is Nash, and that’s just due to the rest of the cast getting shittier each beta phase, they’re all on his beta one level now.

Only character that Ken sympathisers can relate to is initial beta Nash, everyone else is fairly deadly.

Haven’t been keeping up with what’s going on in the beta.

I’ve always mained Ken in any sf…so any changes I’ll adapt.

As long as he ain’t like vanilla sf4 Ken lmao
