oooh arite, I’m sorry for assuming. I’ve just seen some useful things posted that haven’t made it to the main page I was going to post up the 5 EWGF midscreen combo but I see you already updated it, ty. I also feel that the videos some people have posted of combos/tutorials are useful and should make it to the front page. HOWEVER, thanks for having these threads
HAHAHA! I’ve been getting 4-5 out of 10 ewgf from the p2 side now, and even managed to pull s.hp xx ewgf, ewgf, sweep twice on that side. Still way worse than p1 side and i can’t wavedash anymore but fuck this shit feels so rewarding. I swear i love this character even though this game is terrible.
DORYAAAAAAAA
Uh weird. Does this means ewgf has 7 juggle points or maybe the first ewgf doesn’t start the counter?
Also i can’t for the life of me follow up a tag after ewgf. Out of curiosity, who’s your incoming character?
Is Kaz’s c.MP really +5 on block?
first ewgf doesn’t count towards juggling, as it starts the juggle on a grounded opponent. ewgf has 6 juggle potential. i think if you did the ewgf as anti air then that counts as one juggle.
My go to corner combo is :
Agony Spear - EX EWGF - C.:hp: - EX SH - C :hp: - SH
Damage is like 328, not a whole lot for 2 bars but still, it’s a mindless combo to input. I don’t know if that had been posted already but I thought I’d post it regardless.
That’s a real big waste of two bars. If you need to confirm out of Agony Spear in the corner just go straight to Slaughter Hooks, cr.HP xx Rising Upper, cr.HP xx Devastator for 344 meterless. Or if you have trouble with that and really do need something brainless just do Agony Spear xx Slaughter Hooks, cr.MP cr.MP cr.HP xx Devastator for 321. If you’re going to spend two bars you may as well just do something like Agony Spear xx Slaughter Hooks, cr.HP xx Super for 430.
yeah agony spear is a waste of scaling imo, just use c.lp c.mp (or c.lp c.hp) xx SH, c.hp xx WGF, c.HP xx devastator.
Just for future reference, there is no EX version of EWGF, but there is for WGF.
WGF is the MP/HP follow up after mist, EWGF is the “just frame” version.
this EWGF thread explains the difference in more detail.
once you get comfortable with EWGF you can break about 500 dmg in combos
I noticed my mistake by saying EX EWGF when I posted it, but was too lazy to edit =\
That combo is more for flash, as the damage is barely over 300. It’s so brainless to input is the only reason I use it. Comboing into the super is something I regularly do instead of using both bars, but people are usually left wide-eyed after seeing it, especially if they aren’t familiar with how easy Kaz’s attacks are to combo out of. Thanks for the suggested combo’s though, I’m still pretty new to Street Fighter in general. The timing is throwing me for a loop coming from Tekken, but at least EWGF and Mist Step are already familiar to me.
Edit - After a few matches I concur wholeheartedly. LP - MP - SH - c.HP - WGF - c.HP - Devastator is a pretty easy one for corner games. Landing a j.HK beforehand never hurts either.
Just a quick tip for those who are still having trouble getting c.HP to WGF. I took using a double QCF motion and ran with it. Just to add a little bit (that really made it simple for me), I’m using the following inputs exactly. D+HP DF F D DF+HP.
i’m able to follow up with whatever character i use. normally Hei, Hwo, or Steve.
Can we get a match up thread goin?
I can only do 2 EWGF in matches right now… but oh my god. I just hit that 5 EWGF midscreen combo in practice mode. I’m so happy I could cry. Back to grinding…
Just curious for any character, how do you tell how many “juggle points” a move has for that character?
I’m actually thinking on getting all of kazuya’s moves juggle points, it just takes a while.
Basically, the juggle system in this game works with points, every juggle attack adds one point (iirc ground and wall bounces add two) and only an attack with that same point value or greater will connect afterwards.
So to test it just put the opponent in a juggle state and start testing what connects afterwards, jabs should connect twice (meaning they have juggle potential of 2), but won’t connect a third time, whereas a medium attack will (3 points) and so will a heavy (4 points).
I think ewgf has the highest juggle potential in the game.
For an Akuma/Kazuya team, what is a good Mid-Screen combo for Kazuya after being tagged in after Akuma’s HP SRK?
This works, but what I like to do is hit down-forward when I high punch, and when you release to do the WGF motion you’ve already put the stick back in the neutral position. Different strokes for different folks, but I find this to be much more consistent.
most likely c.HP xx EWGF s.MP xx EWGF EWGF
You might be able to replace the s.mp with s.hp depending on the spacing
Yeah we need that.
Theoretically you could do cr.hp xx ewgf, ewgf, cr/s.hp xx ewgf, ewgf.
What I like to do after a heavy Goshoryu is a (J):hk:, (Cr.) :mk: ~ WGF/EWGF, (Cr.):hk:, along with what other’s have suggested.
