Yeah, but it would be very risky and honestly, just dumb to try and jump over her slide. Considering the amount of options she can go into, no one should be trying to jump out unless the Karin is just flat out predictable with her rekkas. That’s the thing with rekkas tho. Just about everyone crouch blocks rekkas anyway, especially against Karin with her high/low game. I’d stay crouch blocking too against her. So if this is the case, where does her flip reset come into play? It misses crouchers (which is what opponents will do unless they have some odd habit of standing), it’s easily hit out of, and the recovery is not good. It’s not threatening to me atm.

0:49 Lands c.MK xx qcfK~P without just timing and wasn’t able to land the v-skill. Lands the combo with just timing on the qcfK~P (notation note; maybe qcfK:P to indicate just timing?). Not sure if it was just a timing error on the players part or whether the combo is not actually possible without hitting the just upper. It would make sense though if it’s true you can confirm off one hit into qcfK~P as in order to confirm you probably wont be able to get the just timing on it. So you can confirm the combo but you get no or limited juggle support from it.

4:08 qcbP safe enough that it couldn’t be punished with a c.MK. So looks like chars will need a fast normal/special to punish it. I imagine characters like Ryu can just srk, but some chars might have trouble really capitalizing on the punish.

After watching Vesper’s breakdown, I’ve decided that I like how they did her V-trigger. Those rekka options are scary. She also looks really solid without them.

2:51 I just noticed this but it seems the amount of v-gauge you get from comboing into v-skill is quite heavily scaled. Probably only about 10% of one bar if that, whereas just doing it raw nets her about 40-50% of one bar.

damn, i was really hoping that c.HP is a consistent anti air considering that it can be special cancelled

I’m wonder if its because of karin’s new design choice and the game being more commitful that her rekka’s are locked in vtrigger. For the most part rekka’s are safe so i’m guessing capcom wants us to earn that safety.

I think originally they were thinking of giving her Rekkas naturally and her v-Trigger would just increase their power/frames/whatever, but as someone suggested, perhaps the Rekka just by default made her too strong and nerfing them to unplayability out of V-Trigger didn’t seem natural, so I guess they figure it was better to keep them really good, make her V-Trigger gauge fill quick via her V-Skill and make her rekkas her v-trigger.

I’m stoked for the character. Didn’t play her much in A3 but I always found her fascinating

This is normal since this happened in A3 as well, which is why she has two main AA normals. Pretty sure st. HP will get the job done in beating crossup attempts like that.

2:40 Lands non just qcfK~P again and tried to combo qcfK~P but didn’t work. This one looked more like it should work so im starting to believe she doesn’t get juggles off non just upper.

5:42 Okay i think i get v-skill meter now. In combos nets about 10%, done raw on normal hit nets about 20% (show here), and on CH nets you about 40-50% (video posted below)

Now im almost certain that Cammy was just slow to react her, but looking at how fast that you can stop doing the rekka and go into a normal, that it seems qcfP recovers pretty damn quick. Still need to see someone try punish with a jab or srk or something though. Another example of this at 7:49.

10:06 Rekka clashed with the first hit of Rashids projectile? So Rekkas can nullify projectiles as well?

Other than that not much else seen that we haven’t seen before with this vid. But the Rekka projectile thing is certainly interesting.

So it seems like Rasenkka or i think thats the name of the overhead move goes straight through projectiles.

If there’s two more phases then adding 5 characters for the next one would make the last beta also require 5 characters, so 50/50. So my hope is to get 4 or 5 more characters for the next beta but I’m not counting on karin at all.

Does she have the reversals?

I’m guessing you mean counters? The counters are cut, but the animation is used in her V-Reversal.

Is her st. MK no longer special cancellable? I haven’t seen it cancelled into a special yet, but I’ve only seen about half of the footage posted so far.
