Rob, I won’t budge on how I think of you, because I’m almost positive you’re just doing this to save face. I know you believe every word of what you said about being better than me, and whatever else. I WILL hold you to that money match. FT10 for $100 at the November Maxout. If you beat me, I will never talk shit to you again. If you lose, I will try VERY hard not to be a sore winner. No promises though.
Also, don’t be like other gutless wonders who accept my challenge to build hype and then just cross your fingers the dust settles out and I’ll forget about it, or that others will forget. You are confident, you think you’re better than me, so you have nothing to lose.
Chris - I think that a character you would play would need to be rushdown oriented. You are a very aggressive player, and you’re definitely capable of playing complex, execution heavy characters. That said, C.Viper, Guy, Ibuki, Fei Long, Cammy and Akuma would be choices I’d consider. Now, the decision would be easier for me to help you with, if I knew what you were trying to get out of playing that character. If you’re wanting to play a character that will require minimal effort, with maximum efficiency (for you, that would be winning. Like me, I know you are in it, to win it, and anything else is unacceptable) then the choice would need to be Fei Long, Akuma or Cammy. All of them have way easier learning curves than the first three, and are all stronger characters.
However, the first three are more suited to your PURE rushdown style of play. If you can accept being a moving punching bag for a couple months before you get to start winning, then you may see better long term enjoyment from playing Viper, Guy or Ibuki. If you’re not willing to accept that, and you’re looking for a more ‘get rich quick, but still kind of in my realm of enjoyment’ thing, then the latter three are something I’d consider.
