Uh, I can try commenting on anything not Marvel, tekken or AE. But AH3, BB, MK9 I know something about enough to feel confident about what I might say.
I also may/may not participate in the tournaments. I want to be there but I am not sure if I will be any any tournaments as of yet.
@SFcatgirl:
I’ll see if anyone else is interested before I go getting any.

@Emerald: AC+ takes out a couple minor cancels/links for a couple characters, and adds a bunch of modes (story, a unique take on survival, ect) and Kliff and Justice (who are tourney banned) are unlockable. So for learning GGAC competitively, it doesn’t matter what version you play.
@Jspot: Yo, I’m down for commentating.
That is what I thought I heard about AC.

It is out of the question to have anyone on the Mic for AE/Marvel that isn’t Nick1Time.
Seriously, Nick NEEDS to be on commentary for these games. He has knowledge, eloquence, and humor, and I nominate Prod1gy or Samson (Do you want a serious stream, or one with some humor?) to be his Marvel sidekick, and Jspot or Samson for AE. Nick combines real knowledge and is entertaining to talk to. Other people have one or the other of these qualities but I can’t think of anyone else who has both.
If Kyah is in attendance, he should comment on Mortal Kombat. B1argh could be his second. (Unless STL comes deep and Slips is in attendance, then he absolutely needs a mic)
For BlazBlue, PJ and Deron. (except these two might be laughing the whole time and won’t be talking much about the matches. When they do though, the commentary will be on point.)
Tekken, I’d be happy to commentate, and I think Boxy or PJ would be a good second. (Again, unless Slips comes, then he needs to be on that mic)
If there is ST/HDR, it’s gotta be Chachi, at least when he has a mic near his face people will hear him clearly, and this dude is HILARIOUS.
AH3 - Ryan and PJ.
I think I hit them all. These are just my opinions based on a blend of knowledge and entertainment from the speakers.

I would need a bullhorn if you guys want me to do commentary.
I am definitely interested in commentary. I’d be more than happy to be on the mic. Had a lot of fun that time Kong and I got on the mic for Ant and Jspot’s ft5. Unfortunately my audio was super low so I have no idea whether I did well or not. I have no experience or practice but fuck it, we’ll do it live.

Fully confirmed cant go, shame though. New job has me training all weekend. Please post up a stream link here so I can watch when I get off every night.
Why has nobody suggested Yipes on commentary with Nick? Especially during MvC3??? That’s be amazing!
Sam, I’m sure we’ll get him on the mic at some point but I’m not sure you can expect dude to do the whole thing. I could only imagine how often he gets
Yeah I’m 100% down for commentary. I appreciate the votes of confidence. Jspot, I’m not sure when I gave you the idea I didnt want to do it, mang, but I’m in there.
Some concerns about everything though after thinking about commentating and the stream.
-Is there going to be someone on production full time? I’m guessing Jspot and Ant will rotate? Not just to make sure the A/V is running smoothly but for other shit as well. If someone sucks on the mic (including myself) to get em off. Possibly set up the EMP guys to guest commentate or do a quick interview here and there. Make sure the TO is pulling all the good matches to the big screen/stream and to give that info to the commentators so that intros can be done before matches and names can be put in the overlay before the match starts. I’m guessing it’ll need a lot of attention.
-Will the commentating booth be far enough away from the players that they wont be able to hear us? The few times I have commentated, I’ve been scared to say some shit because I didn’t want to coach the people playing on what they are or aren’t doing.
-I know we used a ton of avenues to advertise the tournament itself but have we used the same to advertise the stream?
Edit - Spicy Tuesday happening/ stream test happening tonight? I would def like the opportunity to get on the mic before SS

Nick me and Jon had already had this discussion about production after all was done the only thing left to decide was who to have commentate what games. Though you do bring in some good points like the distance between the commentator stand and the main stage to prevent coaching. But when I think about it really matter. At the last SS I thought that the main stage was far enough from the commentator stand since I couldnt hear a word from them while I was playing on stage. Maybe it was different for me but Im pretty sure Jon will run a test to see if there needs to be a change.
Also during a commentators match the plan was just to have someone on the production side to run commentary while one of the commentators have their match. This way hopefully there wont be any problems. Except for the times when someone needs a lunch/smoke break. Then at that point we just need another person.
Im really hoping Ant isnt working at screenland when we run the tournament since it is really hard to run a production with work while being the main guy to go to. So Ant try to get those days off.
I already have planned not to enter any tournaments except maybe teams and singles of AE but that will depend on how many people show up. It takes allot of work to get this to run smoothly so I believe that having someone at all times really matter.
Right now my biggest worries are time and organization. That and any unexpected predicaments that may happen on the way.
Didn’t the last one go smoothly, time wise? I don’t think I stayed for the WHOLE time, so I’m not sure. I’m sure it’s difficult to keep track of all those people…

-Nick, last time we talked about it you didnt sound like you wanted to do it. thats all. you said that you would, but didnt seem thrilled. i wouldnt make you do something if you didnt really want to. im glad that i obviously misunderstood.
as for the screenland testing, im not exactly sure how thats going, but you know its happening. Ant and I are playing it by ear.
Hey, what is the stream URL so I can troll tonight.
Finished my comp last night, thing is beast, can’t say I’ve ever had a comp that could run any game at full settings whenever I wanted, kinda nice.
I remember that feeling when I built mine in September 2007. Then Crysis came out two months later and I wept with sadness…
I built the rig with Battlefield 3 in mind, I would be pretty surprised if I couldn’t max it, if that is the case I can always run a second GPU through SLI. Currently running with my CPU overclocked to 4.4Ghz and I’m going to OC my graphics card when I get home tonight. Should be able to get the card up to 2.2Ghz mem speed relatively safely. I think I can get my cpu up to 4.8Ghz once I dial in the voltage settings but right now it’s enough for me. Running under 60C under full load for 30 minutes gives me piece of mind.

Fellas, I can get some Pizza at a 50% discount down here from my old job. If interested let me know. Just a warning though, it could be cold since it’s a 30 min drive for me to get down there. I can get about 5 boxes of 20" for about $20-$30. I could bring some can drinks too (non-alcoholic). I want to help out the best way I can just to say thanks for having me down here.
